Twas the night before Christmas....

.......when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, except Papa’s mouse.
The computer was humming, the icons were hopping,
As Papa did last-minute Internet shopping.

The stockings were hung by the modem with care
In hope that St. Nicholas would bring new software.
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of computer games danced in their heads.

Dark Forces for Billy, and Doom II for Dan,
And Carmen Sandiego for Pamela Ann.
The letters to Santa had been sent out by Mom,
To santaclaus@toyshop.northpole.com

Which has now been re-routed to Washington State
Because Santa’s workshop has been bought by Bill Gates.
All the elves and reindeer have had to skedaddle
To flashy new quarters in suburban Seattle.

After centuries of a life that was simple and spare,
St. Nicholas is suddenly a new billionaire,
With a shiny red Porsche in the place of his sleigh,
And a house on Lake Washington that’s just down the way

From where Bill has his mansion. The old fellow preens
In black Gucci boots and red Calvin Klein jeans.
The elves have stock options and desks with a view,
Where they write computer code for Johnny and Sue.

No more dolls or tin soldiers or little toy drums
Will be under the tree, only compact disk ROMS
With the Microsoft label. So spin up your drive,
From now on Christmas runs only on Win95.

More rapid than eagles the competitors came,
And Bill whistled, and shouted, and called them by name.
"Now, ADOBE! now, CLARIS! now, INTUIT! too,
Now, APPLE! and NETSCAPE! all of you are through.

It is Microsoft’s SANTA that the kids can’t resist,
It’s the ultimate software with a traditional twist—
Recommended by no less than the jolly old elf,
And on the package, a picture of Santa himself.

Get ‘em young, keep ‘em long, is Microsoft’s scheme,
And a merger with Santa is a marketer’s dream.
To the top of the NASDAQ! to the top of the Dow!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away—wow!"

And Mama in her ‘kerchief and I in my cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter’s nap,
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
The whirr and the hum of our satellite platter,

As it turned toward that new Christmas star in the sky,
The SANTALITE owned by the Microsoft guy.
As I sprang from my bed and was turning around,
My computer turned on with a Jingle-Bells sound.

And there on the screen was a smiling Bill Gates
Next to jolly old Santa, two arm-in-arm mates.
And I heard them exclaim in voice so bright,
Have a MICROSOFT CHRISTMAS, and TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT.

Scottish Xmas fruit cake recipe

You'll need the following:
1 cup of water
1 cup of sugar
4 large brown eggs
2 cups of dried fruit
1 teaspoon of salt
1 cup of brown sugar
Lemon juice
1 cup of nuts
1 bottle of whisky.

Sample the whisky to check for quality.
Take a large bowl. Check the whisky again. To be sure it's the highest quality, pour one level cup and rink. Repeat. Turn on the electric mixer, beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl. Add one teaspoon of sugar and beat again. Make sure the whisky is still okay. Cry another tup. Turn off the mixer. Beat two leggs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit. Mix on the tuner. If the fired druit gets stuck in the beaterers, pry it loose with a drewscriver. Sample the whisky to check for ionsisticity. Next, sift two cups of salt. Or something. Who cares? Check the whisky. Now sift the lemon juice and strain your nuts. Add one table. spoon. Of sugar or something. Whatever you can find. Grease the oven. Turn the cake tin to 350 degrees. Don't forget to beat off the turner. Throw the bowl out of the window. Check the whisky again and go to bed. Who the hell likes fruitcake anyway??
Well it's my last day at work today until the 2nd January! I have of course been able to sign into messenger this week too because my boss is already on her hols so it's been even better here.

Most of you will probably remember her and Chris arguing all the time when he came to stay with us so it's a miracle they managed to last long enough to get married!!

I'm back down to Devon on Saturday and then i've got my sister and her boyfriend staying until boxing day with my dad joining us on Christmas day. Then we are down to my mums for the day the day after. Phew. Then i'm off to Spain on the 28th until the 1st when I get back home around midnight, just in time to go to sleep and get back to work on the 2nd.

My week

Hello

I have been in London all week. Monday i was in the London offcie and the rest of the week I was on a Product Management course. The course was very good. The Hightlight of the week was going to wee A Question of Sport being filmed with My Brothers brother in law Geth and the n been taken around the Blue Peter offices - apart from the blue peter logo and pictures of all the presenters it looks like a normal office.

QoS was funny - Ally is superb - really works the crowd. Sue Barker has a dead easy job. THe guests were - Christopher Dean, Will Greenwood, Alex McLeish and James Cracknell. Here are some pics:

Then We went to a pub on Sheperds Bush and had sommit to eat - and Dick or Dom went past - ooo all excited ;)

I want a new mobile phone

My contract is about to run out and I need a new phone, any suggestions?

At the moment i'm leaning towards one of those Cath Kidston ones from Carphone Warehouse but i'm trying to think if i'll get bored of it after a while and also the phones aren't that good - I don't like the slidey one and the other better looking Nokia is quite old (see picture)...

I did see the Sony Ericsson W800i on Orange in the clearance sale for £4.99 a month and that's with 250 texts and 250 minutes but i've no idea if the phone is any good.

What phones have you got?

Stop The Press - I stayed at my House Friday Night!!

Well this is my weekend round up. Starts Thursday night, when i had my Xmas do with work, drank lots danced and drank more. Friday I had off work, so did very little all day, other than get a new tyre for my car as i had a puncture. Went to the boys house at 4 for a few hours, then went over to Tosh's to play Gears of War, which we completed on Co-Op. I then went back to my house and slept there!!!
Saturday i got up late so did not go see the boys play football, trundled over to the boys house and we all went for lunch in town. Also looked for stuff to wear for the Bad Taste night this Saturday for Em's birthday. Chilled for the afternoon at the boys, Annie, Russ and I went to Emmas and then meet up with some of the football team in weatherspoons as it was the annual xmas do. Went on to Vodka Revolution and meet up with the other boys, Graham and Phil were down for the night as they had been at the races. Was good to see them. We moved on to Blush at about 12 and queued for ages in the cold. Russle and Jay almost got in a fight whilst we queued. Had more drinks, then at 2am Russ and i went home, after getting food. Walked all the way and were cold.
Sunday did sod all, made breakfast for everyone, watch Elf, had a KFC and then watched Man on Fire. Went home at 11.30pm and went to bed.

and now for a black snow dog!

Meet Mac (gyver) the latest addition to the Crazy Zoo!! It's still snowing here - looks like it's here to stay for a few more days. I am trying to make a snowman for you, but the snow is too pawdery and dry - perfect for Skiing and Snowboarding but crap for snowmen :o( so you'll have to make do with snowdogs I'm afraid.

The weekend is here..

..and Sparky is coming!!!

Tonight we will be playing some pool once the Welshman is down.

Tomorrow after footie (we are playing the team that beat us 3-1 two weeks ago so revenge is on the cards) Sparks, Drew and myself are going to Cardiff to get out suits fitted for the Robertson/Jones wedding. A bit of shopping then back to Chelts for a night out, should be good as all the gang will be there.

Sunday will be a recovery session i feel before its goodbye to Sparks for a couple of weeks and i shall be taking Becky out on a date.

Look forward to much carnage and many many photos from the japansese tourists Rusty and Ben.

Ok, so it's not exactly the snowman I promised but you've got to admit it's a pretty fine snow dog!!

DONOR IS SOUGHT TO HELP REBEKAH

Staff and pupils at St Benedict's School are launching a desperate appeal for donors to help leukaemia sufferer Rebekah Deponeo. The 13-year-old's chances of survival hinge on finding a donor for a bone marrow transplant.Blood tests are being carried out at the Arle Road, Cheltenham, school on Thursday to find a match.

Rebekah was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukaemia - a rare form of cancer that affects only 500 people a year in the UK - in June after complaining of stiff legs.Initial X-rays indicated nothing but the disease was spotted after a blood test showed some abnormal results.

The session at St Benedict's is being run in conjunction with the Anthony Nolan Trust, the charity that finds lifesaving donors for patients in need of a bone marrow transplant.

Everyone tested will be entered into the charity's database.Their blood may be matched with Rebekah or someone in need of a transplant.

The testing session is being run at St Benedict's School, Arle Road, Cheltenham, from 4pm to 7pm on Thursday.

I better make sure I have lots of warm stuff on though - it's -10 out there and the wind chill is making it more like -20 brrrrrr..... Will be bakc later with piccies.

Im in love im in love and i don't care who knows it

Not really (well maybe a bit) but thought i would quote from Elf (Ben/Drew and i's favourite film).

Well my weekend was as follows:

Friday i was off work so went to the King Eddie for lunch with my lady it was lovely, Fri night as below went to see Bond - ace.

Sat as below played footie - shouldn't have lost and looks as though the league may be slipping away but hope is not lost just yet.

Sat night stayed in with Becky and James and eat cake/ice cream and pringles and watched Pushing Tin.

On Sunday i went out with Becky to meet her family as it was her Mums birthday. Went to The Windmill near Oxford for Sunday lunch which was really nice i eat a lot of food then went back to her parents house for a brew and to meet all the animals (4 dogs, 1 cat, 2 tortoises, a lizard, parrot and fish). Was a bit nerve racking as there were 11 of us but i didnt make a tit of myself so think i did ok.

Went back to James' and played some XBox (Becky loves Ghost Recon but tends to get a bit loud and swears a lot) then we watched a film called Dead End which was pump was supposed to be scary but was just weird.

Im back in Bristol this week (well until Friday) then taking my mum to Heathrow as she is going to Bali for a month as her 50th birthday present. Im taking Becky down to meet her and her boyfriend Graham then will take her to see my Dad too so this week it is her turn to be nervous.

Looking forward to seeing Sparks in a couple of weeks then having most of December off.

Bye Bye

Think I will stick with IPOD

Microsoft's Zune Only Looks Simple

By Rob Pegoraro
Sunday, November 19, 2006; Page F01
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/11/18/AR2006111800040.html

The new Zune digital-media player may be an all-Microsoft production, but it feels like it came from two companies.

One's the smart, aggressive competitor that built the Xbox and Xbox 360 game consoles, carving out a franchise from scratch in a tough market. The other's the clumsy, lumbering giant that can't seem to avoid occasionally stepping on its own customers.

That combination won't help the Zune grab market share from Apple's iPod. Apple has dominated the market by emphasizing simplicity above all, and Microsoft aims to follow suit with the Zune, a wireless-enabled player that sells for $250.

But the Zune's relentlessly proprietary nature suggests Microsoft drew the wrong lessons from Apple: It matched the restrictiveness of the iTunes Store, not its utility.

The Zune player itself is the most appealing part of the package. About the size of a deck of cards, it comes in dark gray, brown or white and provides almost 30 gigabytes of hard-drive storage. It has an intuitiveness absent from most other iPod rivals.

Pick up the Zune, and its controls fall under your thumb: a back button, a circular four-way controller that resembles an iPod's click-wheel dial and a play/pause button. Once you realize that the central controller doesn't spin, its operation is pretty much self-evident: Press up or down to adjust volume; press left or right to skip to the previous or next song.

The Zune's bright, clear color screen, three inches across, allows more room to present its menus. That made building a playlist more obvious than on an iPod.

When you view photos or videos, the screen automatically switches orientation to a wide landscape mode. A built-in FM tuner offers an alternative to your music and can even display the program data many stations broadcast, such as song titles or call letters.

The rest of the Zune's design shows a similar elegance. Its headphones click together magnetically for tidier storage, while its grippy, rubber-like surface should resist scratching. The thing even looks clean, without the usual Windows logo or even the word "Microsoft." (Only a tiny "Hello from Seattle" on the back reveals its ancestry.)

The Zune, however, is a little thick and heavy, about six-tenths of an inch and just over six ounces with headphones. That added bulk comes from the Zune's major innovation, its wireless music sharing.

If you and a friend with a Zune are nearby -- we got this to work from 50 feet away -- you can beam songs to each other.

This isn't a permanent transfer; the Zune erases the song after three days or the third playback, whichever comes first. But it is a neat way to expand your music library, and eventually your tastes.

If you like the new music, you can flag it for later attention. When you plug a Zune back into your computer, its software will look for that song in your music library and Microsoft's Zune Marketplace.

With wireless on, a Zune's battery lasted through 12 hours of music playback; with that feature off, it ran for 13. This rechargeable battery, sealed inside, will wear out eventually, but Microsoft hasn't set a battery-replacement policy yet.

If Microsoft had stopped there, the Zune would be in fine shape to challenge the iPod. Instead, the company chose to limit the Zune to one program and one Internet music store.

The Windows XP-only Zune software is almost functionally identical to the new Windows Media Player 11. Like that program, it can't subscribe to podcasts or print out CD labels, but otherwise it handles most digital-music chores smoothly.

But the Zune program takes longer to install, counting time needed for a mandatory update of the Zune player's firmware. (Microsoft says you'll need to do that with Zunes sold this year.)

Incompatibility with other Windows Media-based online music stores should provoke a lot more angst. Zune software and hardware only play "unprotected" MP3, AAC and WMA files, plus Zune Marketplace downloads. They ignore anything obtained before from stores using Microsoft's formats. Rhapsody, Napster or MSN Music songs, audiobook loans from a library, Amazon Unbox video rentals--they're all dead to the Zune. This is a breathtaking display of corporate faithlessness, cluelessness or both.

The Zune Marketplace can't replace those other sources of Windows Media content, since it doesn't sell TV shows or movies. Its music library totals about 2 million songs, fewer than other popular Web music services, with most available for either rent or purchase.

Rentals can be copied to two Zune players, but they can't be burned to audio CD and will go silent if you cancel your $15 monthly subscription.

Purchases don't require a subscription and have the same usage limits as elsewhere; for instance, you can't play them on more than five computers at once and can only burn a playlist to audio CDs seven times.

But unlike other stores, the Zune Marketplace doesn't let you pay in U.S. currency. You must first purchase "Microsoft Points," a financial instrument Microsoft created for its Xbox Live video game service, then trade them in for each song or album.

Like a county fair that makes you buy food tickets, this system forces you to buy more than you need for the next transaction. The minimum Microsoft Point purchase is 400 points for $5, while songs go for 79 points each -- at the current exchange rate, nearly 99 cents. Album prices equate to $10 or so.

Beyond the arrogance of requiring Microsoft's own "money," the Zune Marketplace also shows sloppy workmanship.

Its registration screen wouldn't accept three Washington, D.C., Zip codes.

When presented with a shared song that I'd tagged (and which was in the Zune Marketplace inventory) its search function couldn't find it.

And when I tried buying a new album, I only got six of 13 tracks and a message that the others "might not be available." (Microsoft said that shouldn't have happened.)

Microsoft has enough of a challenge without all these self-inflicted flaws. Do the folks there realize nobody's handing out extra points for difficulty?

My Weekend

Apart from bond (see below) Saturday involved football lost 3-1 (got beat by 3 mistakes :( ) didnt deserve it. nothing was dropping for us. but then the usual gang went to the pub and had lunch and had a good time.

Saturday night Yvette and I went to her "uncles" 50th birthday. Had a skittle tournament - our team came 4th - out of 6th. i cam 8th out of about 40 in killer - so that was not too bad.

Sunday James and I went to see Tenacious D, but due to a printing error it wasnt actually on - but Cinema didnt bother telling people. So we went to Copa (Peppers) for brekkie, wandered around the shopes and went back to mine to play james new copy of Gears of War - WHAT A GAME.

We also started making Lasagne.

Hearts played Rangers - shoosh!

then Yvette came home had tea, watched 6th episode of lost, then planet earth - minted series.

Then ran James and Lou home. went to bed

Craig..Daniel Craig goes in @ #2

Bond was minted!

From the opening black and white sequence to the end (bar the crap theme tune) the film was firing on all possible cylinders.

Daniel Craig was superb, Bond is a killer, and Craig looked like he could kill. Looks like the Sean Bond as you could belive he could kill whilst Roger Moore could ony raise an eyebrow. Mr Brosnan has gone to #3 but he was a good bond too - when he killed Electra in the world is not enough you believed he was a glorified hitman. And the women seemed to like him.

But back to Casino Royale. No Q branch and no miss moneypenny - although a quick sly nod to her in one scene. Aston Martin was back, thank goodness they got rid of the damn beemers in the last one! there was no gadgets which was a good thing as in the book there was none either. Talking of Ian Flemings 1st Spy novel, the film stayed true, although the baddies were updated to be world terrorists and instead of playing the card game baccarat we saw bond pit his wits in high stake Texas Hold 'em which again is an update to current times.

There was never a dull moment in the film, cant wait to see the next one!

Can you believe it....

I have not posted anything other than comments for 2 weeks!!

Well its recap the weekend time. Friday went over to the boys at 7.30 and it was lucky i did or Drew would have been on his own cause Rusty stayed in Bath with Catherine and Anna. I am sure he will tell you the funny story about his night out in due time. Drew and i watched some films then hit the hay.

Saturday we were up early for the football (8am) Tosh picked us up with his roof down and we went to Evesham High school for the match. There was girls hockey on so i did get distracted sometimes, ok a lot of times. Reminded me of when i used to play hockey for my school, the injuries i caused (not all mistakes you know). Anyway, the boys played a nice game, the opposing team played the hoofit tactic most of the time. With careful tactics and skill Cheltenham Trinity managed a 5-1 win, with Drew getting a Hat-Trick, including a 35 Foot Wonder goal! Well Done guys. We drove back to Chelts in Toshs car, with the roof down again. Rusty came home with the girls just befor lunch, so we all went into town for some food. Meet up with Jay, Becky, James, Tosh and Yvette so the 10 of us went to Chiqitos for lunch. It was just enough to fill me up for the afternoon. Went back to the boys house, drew went home to P-Head for the night, so Russ, Catherine, Anna and I started watching 24 season 5, Russ got it for Anna for her birthday (20th November people so we need to get her a card). Watched a few of those before i had to get ready to go out. Meet up with Jay, Becky, James and Yvette in Vodka Revolution, Tosh had to collect Sheps from The Slug as he was a little drunk. We had a good time in Revolution, Sheps got up and said "I am going home" then vanished leaving his coat behind. So Jay, Becky, Tosh, Yvette and i went to Blush, Drank lots more danced a bit etc etc, Photos are on my MSN Space. At just before 2 Tosh was hungry so we left, they went for food and i ran home to the boys. On the way back i found a mobile phone on the floor so i picked it up.

Sunday was a lazy day, got up and made breakfast for everyone, then we all sat about watching more 24 till 3pm. Sparky and Emma popped in to say hello on his way back from looking at where they are having their wedding. It was good to see them both. Rusty took the girls back to bath and i waited for Drew to come home. Waited and Waited some more it got to 7pm and Annie came home. I waited and Waited some more chatting with Annie, It got to 9 and Emma C came over to watch Ghost on channel 5, Waited a little bit more and then Drew came back. Watched all of Ghost, Took Emma home then went back to my house and went to bed. Now it is Monday.

Why do farts make a sound?

For those of you who want the answer, it's because of the vibration of gas passing through the anal sphincter. Nice.

Borats Wife

Morning

My passenger car door won't close properly. I realised today it was open all night, which is not ideal since i've got a car full of my stuff to move into town most nights! Dunno what's causing that but it annoyed the hell out of me since I had to pull over twice this morning to push it shut again. Grrrrr.

Oh, but at least the might Spurs beat Chelsea this weekend! Woohoo!

Weekend News

Another weekend goes by and this is how it unfolded.....

I came up to Chelts on Thursday so i could go footie training, waste of time as there are too many people there nowadays and Drew and i weren't picked for Saturday as the management were experimenting with the team. I picked Becky (my girlfriend for those who don't know) up from a works party and went to beddie byes.

Friday i worked form James' house as i had a touch of man flu, in the evening we went to Tosh's house to watch the first 5 Lost season 3 episodes. I fell asleep during the 3rd one and dribbled on Tosh' cushions.

Sat got up to go and watch Tosh play footie. I had received a text the previous night asking me to play, i took my stuff so i could play a half.

We were playing a team that were not supposed to be very good hence all the changes but at half time it was 1-1. I came on at half time and although i didn't influence the game very much we managed to score in the 2nd half and played pretty well so came away with a 2-1 win. Tosh played well and if Drew had been playing too we probably would have scored a few more. Other footie results didn't go our way though with Hearts and Bristol City losing:(

Sat afternoon James, Tosh and i went to see Borat at the cinema, very funny film Tosh was wetting himself at times.

Sat night we went to the racecourse to watch the fireworks, very nice and then went to Vodka Revolution and had a few drinks. Drew, James, Becky and i went home and the rest of the gang (Benji, my bro, his girlfriend and his girlfriends sister )went to Blush and got drunk.

Sunday James made us omlettes which were gurt lush then we went into town to watch the rugby. James and i settled ourselves into seats at Tailors and watched the Arsenal/West Ham game before we watched England get stuffed by the Kiwis with Drew, Becky and Beckys friend Sam. Ben came to meet us after and we stayed in Tailors for a bit before going to QBar to play some pool where we met Tosh and Yvette.

Today i have the day off and am spending it with the lovely lady chilling out before i take her for a meal tonight. Back to Bristol tomorrow for the grand total of 2 nights (dont know why i moved back) before heading up to Chelts again to spend a weekend with my friend Mr Toshack and Yvette.

Hope you all had good weekends.

Jagshemash.

Rustys weekend by Rusty

Well hello everybody. So I thought I would tell the story of my weekend as I remember it.

Well there you go, that's about as much as I can remember. No really, my memories of this weekend will be lived through stories that people have told me. Drink plays a large part in these stories, as does the pavement and bad dancing.

I do remember shopping and going to James' house - thanks James' for letting everyone come over for drinks and food. My wonderful girlfriend Catherine and the best bro in the world bought me a Diesel watch for my birthday, it's minted. Anna also bought me a shirt which I wore out on Saturday. Benji bought party bags and balloons and got me a birthday cake with spiders and eyes on it, it was yummy!

Oh and Pete and Waz came down from Manchester to stay which was amazing, Catherine and Anna were stoked to see them as was I. :)

Well now the weekend is over, it is my birthday tomorrow and I have the day off. Catherine and me are spending tomorrow and Wednesday together, we are going to play mini golf and go out for dinner. I am excited.

CGCHE Old Skool

New back box for the exhaust and a new battery were needed for my Car. The exhaust explains why my car sounds much louder than usual. The hole was as big as a side plate on top of the back box which is why all the fumes were just sucked straight up into the car. Thankfully it is all fixed now and running well, touch wood.

Morning People

Well i'm back. I'm busy already today which sucks, I was hoping to ease my way in by surfing the 'net for a couple of hours but nevermind.

I had a good week off. On Monday night I went to see Keane in Plymouth, i'm not a massive fan but they were really good even if being 5 ft 2 meant I couldn't see an awful lot! We had torrential rain here, i'm glad I wasn't driving because at one point I couldn't see the road and it was making me travel sick! All the rain has meant i've discovered a large leak in my car, I had a puddle of water on my drivers side door which i've had to empty most days with a tea towel. Classy car!

On Tuesday I had a good lie in then vegged around then met Amy B for coffee. In the evening I went to see a friend in town. On Weds night I drove up to Bristol to see Ella (my sister), we drank far too much white wine and went to bed really late. On Thursday Ella and me went into Bristol to go shopping, it was really quiet which was great but we both had hangovers so didn't buy much and had to stop constantly for a coffee and a sit down! Still, I got a dress in the sale for £7 to wear to Gail's wedding in December so i'm happy!

I came back at the end of the week and went to a halloween party on Saturday night. I was up drinking till gone 3am and even though the clocks went back nothing was going to save me from the worst hangover i've had in years! I don't even feel 100% well today! I couldn't even bring myself to put any make up on so things must have been bad!

So back to work today, nothing has changed. Did toss on the quiz today and am doing rubbish in both my fantast football leagues! Plus Spurs are appauling this season so far. Moan, moan, moan i'm off to do some more work!

Birthday Weekend

Well it was Russels birthday weekend so i guess you all want to know what happened. Friday night we all planned to have some tea and go to the que bar to play some pool. This never happened as Drew was stuck at work till 11pm and we did not have tea till close to 10pm. So we sat in and watched TV. Russels friends Peter and Woz were special guests for the weekend, Peter is Woz's girlfriend by the way and they are both Australian like Catherine (Russels lady) and Anna (Catherines sister) who were also staying for the weekend.

On Saturday we got up and went to watch the boys play football, Cup game which they won 2-0 goals by Drew and Jay. After the football we went to the Lansdown for food, was shocking service which is usually a lot better. Once our bellies were full we all wandered into town to look about the shops, purchases were made by most. Drew waited at home for his brother to come (Neil) and then went to the driving range with him. Once back at the boys we all had a rest till it was time to go over to James for food and a bit of a party for the birthday boy. I had got Russ a cake and made party bags for everyone, chocolates and a shot for all. We played cirle of death and drank many units of alcohol. At about 10.30 we left to goto the 21 club, massive queue so we just went to Blush (Satans Sauna as it is always so hot in there). Way to much was drunk, an excellent night was had, the staff had to ask us to leave at 3.20am as they were closing. We headed for the Taxi rank, lost Russ, but found him laying in the fetal position by the door of Diesel girls shop on Regent street, it looked like a good spot so i lay down too. Once up we got in taxis and went home. Russel was unable to get undressed and wanted to go to the toilet, was not able to so cried on the stairs. Catherine told Anna off for not helping him get down stairs as she just stood and giggled at him. I must tell you that he was sitting at the top of the stairs with his tousers half down in his pants so it was very funny. Anyway we all crashed out and slept.

Sunday was hell, hangover city. Russ was still drunk till about 4pm, everyone felt like shit. Muffins for breakfast at 11am put the clock back 10am. Food was good. We then got McDonalds for lunch at 1, it was alright but once most people finished we felt sicker. Took Woz and Peter to the train station at 2pm. Back to the boys and spent the afternoon trying to sleep. Did not really happen as James, Jay and Becky came round. James put a gerkin on my ear which woke me up (Shitbag). Tidyied and washed up the plates and stuff, we used 24 cups over two days. Went to the shops and got food for Drew and I for tea, Catherine and Russ drove to the Co-Op round the corner. She had gear issues and could not park Russ' car, 1st reverse and reverse 6th or something. After tea Russ took the girls back home to Bath, Drew and I watched TV. At 10 i tried to go home but i had a flat battery, jump started the car off Drews.

This morning again could not start the car so had to jump start of Marcus', if you need to know the battery for an Alfa is in the boot. My car is now in the garage getting fixed. Was just supposed to go in to find out why it was letting fumes into the car but now need to find new battery fault too.

Howdy from Canada

Howdy Folks

As you can see from Ben's pictures I get to live the life of Riley over here in BC. Riding horses, playing with puppies and genrally not being very stressed!! It's great. So far today I have been playing with our new puppy (the black one in Ben's photos) watching the new puppy play with Ryder, sleeping on the sofa and generally not being busy. the only downside is it's raining and I don't think it will stop before April!!

Anyway I am home for the winter from the ranch, so will be playing at updating websites - dreamscaperanch.com and goldairranch.com - I'll be sure to let you know which photos are Ben's!!

Well better go, time to buy steaks for dinner.

Jays version of the weekend

Well as per Bens blog went to play pool on Friday didn't go clubbing though as had footie in the morning.

Sat was the 2nd leg of the National Cup, we were 6-1 down from the first leg and so needed to win 6-o . To cut a long story short with 10 minutes to go we were winning 5-1 and so only needed 1 goal to level the tie. Unfortunately Tosh had to go off injured and so did i after a nasty man kicked me in the ribs, we let in 2 late goals and alas the game was won but the overall tie lost. Wasn't too miffed off as most of us didn't play in the first game and we made a good fist of it in the second.

Went to the pub for lunch and then wandered round town with James for a bit before going back for a kip and a bit of 360 action (James has got NBA07 its ace).

Waited for Becky to arrive after finishing work then got ready and went to Lou's. Was very enjoyable apart from when i lost circle of death and had to drink a concoction consisting of corona, wine, whisky and coke and something else i cant remember. I felt very ill but was ok by the time we got to the 21 club. Cant remember too much after that apart from sitting down and telling Becky i wanted to go home.

Sunday stayed in bed most of the day, i felt fine but Becky was a bit ill. Then we went to Tosh and Yvettes for a couples night which was cool. We watched Click and Two for the Money both of which i thought were good. We also had nibbles which were ace. Got home and went to bed at half 11.

On Monday i took Becky to the zoo, we had a really nice time and went back to James (where i was staying the weekend-thank you pal)and watched the Da Vinci Code which i thought was quite good but not as good as the book. We played some 360 and James went to play basketball which i was going to go and watch but fell asleep whilst Becky watched 50 First Dates.

Was sad to go home today but have a busy week so will be no time before its Friday again and ill be up for my bro's birthday, can't wait.

The weekend

Ok my version of the weekend.

Friday Night - Sparks came for the weekend and we went out to Q-Bar, played pool upstairs. The usual crowd was there, Drew, Tosh, Yvette, Jay, and Becky. My housemate Marcus also came out at about 9ish. We drank a bit, then as the boys had football they went home early to get some sleep and be fresh for the game. Oh by this time Louise had come and joined us. So Sparks, Marcus, Louise and I all went to the 21 Club for some more drinking. It is kind of blurry here, I only remember going cause I have pictures to prove it. Anyway after that it was time to get the Moda out of Sparky, we were going out the next night so it had to be done. Louise was wasted so she went home. Sparky and I danced, Marcus stood and looked a bit grumpy, he did tell me today he did have a good time. After Moda Marcus drove home, Sparks and I got some food from Cotswold, I did my normal trick of throwing it on the floor when I got bored of it. Finally got a taxi home and went to bed.

Saturday, woke up at 8am, watched some TV and stuff. Picked up Yvette for breakfast, went to Tesco and got food to cook. Back to the boys, had breakfast - Bacon Muffins. Went to watch the boys play football. Really good game. Will let on of them tell you about it (Tosh). We went to the pub after for lunch. Drew and Sparky started their drinking at 1pm. Spend couple of hours in the pub, popped into town with Sparks to try and get our hair cut, my barbers was closed he could not get in Tony and Guys as they were to busy. So we went back to the Lansdown. 5ish we went back to the house and had to start getting ready for Louises house party. Went there at 7 drank, then drank some more, played circle of death. Most of the boys went to meet Annie at 9, she was having a reunion or something for her course. They will have to fill you in on the 21 club happenings. I stayed at the house party till 11ish when we went to Blush. Lots more drinking, people disappeared not sure what was going on. All I knew was that Anna (Russell's girlfriends sister), Sparks and I were left there at 3. So as always that means it was time for food. Dirty kebob, ate half threw half on the floor, a little down myself. Taxi home. Annie's friends were staying over and were in the lounge, where I sleep, till 5ish, did not get to sleep till 5.30ish.

Sunday woke up at 9, felt knackered. We had Sausage, Egg and mushroom Muffins at about 11.30, waited for most of the guests to leave so they did not want us to cook for them. Catherine and Russell made a brilliant roast lamb which Drew, Sparks, Anna and I helped them eat. I was great. Sparks went home, Russell took Anna and Catherine back home. Drew and I watched TV. Louise came round we watched Coach Carter, then I took Louise home and went back to my house. Got back to mine at 11, found a package from Amazon, inside was Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and my new Shure headphones (They are amazing). In bed for 11.30 and managed to fall asleep about 1am.

Just wanted to comment on the opinions of Ben and Tosh on the movies The Departed and Date Movie. I agree with both. The Departed should have been so much better, promised a lot but failed to deliver. Date Movie - a load of poo but one class moment of sheer delight. "What's your favourite love song?" Singing "I'll take you to the Candy shop." Hahahaha.
So this weekend Sparky is up, him and Ben went to Moda last night, didn't see that one coming. We are off out tonight for a couple of drinky poos which should be ace. I will tell the tlae of the weekend on Monday.

The last Days in Canada

Should have done this on Tuesday when we got back, but better late than never. OK So Thursday was spend tidiying up around the ranch cause they were having guests come to stay. Drew continued with the Sawfit with Carl. I fed the horses in the morning and moved everything that was messy, outting it away, throwing it on the bonfire or taking it the Lea's sisters donnas house. The guests arrived in the evening. A family from Vancouver, Julian the dad was an oriental language teacher at university, he was also german so we talked football with him. His wife was called Gauge, she was an american and the meet at Berkley. They had three kids A boy called Tillman who was 8 and spoken german and english, a girl called Emma who was 3 1/2 and also spoke german and english. The dad only spoke to the kids in German and the mum in english, they also had another little girl who they called Bobo she was 1, her real name was Beatrix we found out.

On Friday i fed the horses again in the morning, my sister was giving the kids a quick riding lesson, i got to ride Jessie the horse bareback for a while as we did not have the right size saddle out for me. After lunch i went to Kamloops and we went food shopping and i got my hat, Drew was helping with the sawfit again.

Saturday again fed the horses in the morning, went and cut up some more wood with Drew, i am a semi-pro chainsaw operative now. Came back had lunch. After lunch i go to ride the ATV as you can see from the photos. Then Drew, Rachel and i went riding for an hour. Came back and made a roast dinner for everyone. In the evening Drew, Carl and i went to the cinema and watched the departed, an ok film but could have been a lot better.

Sunday was our last day on the ranch,so after feeding the horses and breakfast, we went for another ride, saw where a bear had been sharpening his claws on a tree. When we got back drew helped again put up the sawfit, whilst i helped with a riding lesson given to the kids and Gauge. Popped over to another ranch, were the puppies lived to take some pictures of a race horse. Once back at dreamscape we packed up our stuff and were taken to Kamloops so we could get the Greyhound back to Hope. Had Tea went to bed.

Monday was spent sitting around my sisters house in the morning, went out for lunch at a nice little diner. FOund out that it is not just me who has the strange eating habits but my sister lines up her last chips too, it must run in the family. Drew, Rachel and i set off for vancouver at 2.30, got to the airport at about 5, booked in and then said goodbye to my sister. Waited for the flight in departures until 8pm, 12 hour flight home arrived back at 3pm tuesday. Jay was waiting for us at Cardiff airport. We then started telling our holiday tale for the first time.

I have no told my holiday story about 100 times, but since i loved it so much i will happierly tell you again if you ask. Oh an i have finally got over my jetlag too.

I am back

Got home this morning at 10:30. No sleep for 24 hours so funnily enough i came home and went straight to sleep!

Flight was good - damn quiet so i had a row to myself so spread my myself out. food and drink was good too. BUT my choice of moives wasnt. I started off with a SCanner Darkly which was good but the ending let it down - might have to watch it again as i might have missed something, we shall see, looks minted tho. Then i watched posideon which was ok - pretty standard stuff, nowt that special. then i was at a bit of a quandry as what to do next as i still wasnt tired so i put on date movie for mindless entertainment. it was rubbish absoulty toss, but then i never thought it was gonna be that good, was hoping it would have put me to sleep.

Yesterday on my last day in NY i went shopping, went to the boos shop (which i went to the night before but it was shut as they were shooting a film - i am legend - got some pics) after that i went and had lunch and went back to my hotel to read my book as i was sick of wandering around on my tod. Then i got into my car to the airport which the hotel provided for me, it was a limo! haha minted so i had a limo to myself. this is not uncommon James and my bro (not at the same time) got a limo in NY too.

JFK airport was nowt special when it came to the shops, most shops wernt even duty free! i hate that about shopping in the US - it has a price of say 2 dollers but then you have to add tax onto that - fecking annoying wish they did what we did and hve tax included!

so back now and rather glad 11 days on yer tod aint that great. looking fwd to weekend to see everyone and tonight when Yvette comes home. - awwwwww ;)

I just realised...

...i'm on holiday next week so I won't be able to do the quiz! Typical since i'm winning this month so far...though judging on the last two days scores that won't last!!

Canada Photos

Ladies and gents i have uploaded the interesting photos from Canada to my Benji at Home Msn Space. Use the link on the right to see them.

I'm moving too!

I too like Jay am moving although I don’t know where yet…It’s a slight problem since I have two weeks until I have to leave my current place! I have been frantically looking at renting back in town but I am amazed at how much things cost – they are even more expensive that what my sister pays in Bristol between two of them. So, it looks like I may have to pay to put some stuff into storage and commute from my mums which is about 45 mins away from work until I find something! How bad is that!?

The Homeland is calling

Well i am finally going back to Bristol to live today. After picking Drew and Ben up from the airport yesterday the time has come for me to return to my roots.

I shall be taking the last remnants of my belongings back today although there still seems to be a lot of my stuff still in the house, i think i will feel a bit funny tonight in my new room and will miss the banter with Drew.

Still i am only there till Friday as i will be coming back to see my friends/girlfriend for the weekend and play footie. We have a mammoth task ahead of us as we are playing in the National Cup against a team from Wales. The first leg didn't go too well as we lost 6-1 but Drew, Tosh, our goalie and myself didnt play as we were away so with all the big guns back we may be able to turn it round. Sparky is coming up too so should be ace.

It is my brothers (Rusty) birthday on the 31st of October so we will be going out for birthday celebrations on the 28th (Saturday) all are welcome and hopefully it won't be as much carnage as his last birthday when we all went to Bristol.

I shall miss my pals very much over the next 2 days and the forthcoming weeks i look forward to when the boys come down/up to visit me in November.

Oh and welcome back Ben and Drew (and Tosh on Thurs).

A Bored Blog

Ok, so I am bored. Been in London office for one day and am bored already. This place is pants. The air con doesn't work. It is either like the north pole or like the sahara, no in betweeness. The toilets smell and the flush doesn't work in the mens so we have to use the "visitors" toliet which is painted a very nausea inducing lilac.
I am tired, I have had too many weekends that have included drinking lots of cider/beer and it has caught up with me.
I had to give this guy who is staying in the same hotel as me a lift this morning. He smells and has greasy hair which would be considered a comb over if it was long enough. The conversation in the car was thrilling.
I am now waiting to go into a meeting which will undoubtably over run and leave me in no fit state to enjoy my evening.
I do apologise for this very depressing blog but I had to vent somewhere. Catherine will be getting worse when I speak to her later so consider yourselves the lucky ones.
Only two more days here I guess then I can return to sofa and tv. :)

NY Rangers

Last night I wnet to see NY Rangers play New Jersey Devils at the Gardens (thats madison Square Gardens for anyone who didnt know - i am down with the Ne w York lingo!) it was minted - NY Rangers (not calling them Rangers that is just wrong for a hearts fan to say) beat the Devils 4-2 - so damn good. no fights which is a shame but apperently they dont have as many fights as the players get banned and fined! bugger thats why i go to see the games.

I took a fwe pics so will post them on msn spaces when i get back

I fly tomorrow and get back thursday afternoon :( not nice flight. but will be good to get back to normallity

Can you tell what I went as?

Well it's halloween RAG day here again at work - as usual I put a lot of effort into my costume and shock horror i've gone as a spider web again this year! Only thing was I forgot my deelyboppers (sp?!) so had to get an inflatable spider instead! Oooh scary!

Panda Watch

The mood is tense; I have been on some serious, serious reports but nothing quite like this. I uh... Ching... King is inside right now. I tried to get an interview with him, but they said no, you can't do that he's a live bear, he will literally rip your face off.

Any moment now, a stork will come in with the new baby panda. Let's just see if I can see what's going on there.

hahaha this report was on abc news this morning i was pissing myself laughing.

And heres the weatherman who is loving it - very cheesy :) and the panda is in shot too. Look at the kids faces hahaha they dont think its as exciting.

Canada

Is anyone else slightly concerned with what they are reading? Brokeback Mountain was only a joke wasn't it?

Wednesday in Canada

So now one has blogged for a while, so i may as well tell you about what we have done since Monday. We took a tour round Hope on Monday, saw a load of chainsaw carvings, which were pretty cool. Went to the bridge and the Sheriffs office from First Blood. Took loads of photos, will upload them all when i get home.

Tuesday we drove up to Dreamscape ranch, got to the ranch at about 3pm, took a look round, the views are excellent, at night you can even see the milky way.

Today we got up and did some real manly work. We did some lopping and chopping with a chainsaw, collecting wood for the winter. Four trees were cut down and chopped into 12" pieces. Loaded onto a truck which Drew and I both drove, we also got to drive the tractor. Lots of fun!!!

If i get a chance i will tell youi more of our adventures, but right now it is time for food, so i gotta go!!

Hello from across the Pond

Drew and I have landed here after a loverly 12 hour flight. With a baby over on the other side of the plane, luck it did not cry all the way, in fact it was quite good really. Drew didmanage to spill a glass of orange juice over his lap 10 mins in to the flight, so we had to get the Hot stewardess to get him some towels and a new pillow cause it was soaked. We flirted with her for the rest of the flight. We got to watch some pump films on the way. Managed to have about 30-40 mins of sleep.

Landed at 2pm (Canada Time), through customs and stuff by 3pm, meet up with my sister and her boyfriend and then travelled back to Hope.

Now it is 6pm here so is 2am over there, have been to the liquer store and got some Corana, probably will not get any sleep now till 10pm, about 26 hours awake, oooohhh goodie. Tomorrow we are going back to vancouver to do some fun activities. The monday look about hope and see all the stuff in town, then Tuesday we head off to the ranch. Will keep you all informed as and when i can, but i am hungry now and it is time to get some food in me.

So long Farewell

Well in 45mins I finish work for the next 10 days, during which I will be taking my holiday in Canada, seeing my sister with Drew on a ranch. We should be going to a few places in Vancouver when we land. Then off to Hope where my sister lives. It is also the town that they filmed First Blood in, so we should get some shoots of the bridge and about the town. There is also a cut out thing so you can stick your head through so you can be like Rambo. Comedy photo opportunity I thinks, will try and get the dog to stick its head in it. We will then be heading to a ranch called Dreamscape, near Kamloops. Horse riding and other fun stuff to be had here. Not sure what else we will be doing, have the chance to do a parachute jump if I want to whilst I am there.

Have checked the weather for the next 14 days and it should not be too cold, pretty much like here in the UK, apart from the ranch where it could be as cold as 2'c, so not much need for winter clogs.

So I bid you all a goodbye for now, and I will take lots of photos and stick them on my MSN space for you all to look at.

Love Love Love
Benji

Morning!

Hello all!

Long time no blog and all that. Well nice to see I'm off sick for a few days and i've got loads to come back and read on the blog!

I don't have too much news, I managed to get a decent hair cut at the college the other night, all my hair has been cut short, well short for me!

I've got 3 weeks to find somewhere to live which is not really possible so I need to move back to my mums which is about 45 mins from work! Ahhhh how crap!

I have been checking out all the msn spaces to see your photos from Prague and your video, very amusing! There was one b&w picture of Ben where he looked just like Frank Lampard, for a minute I thought you'd met him!! Ben it won't let me on your msn site, have you got restricted access to it?

Well I missed one day of the quiz so will have to get cracking on scoring some 10's next week if possible.

When are you off to Canada Ben? (and Drew but of course he never reads this)

Welcome to the blog Russ! Hopefully your newness will mean you are nice and eager and post loads for us to read, and come on Little Tosh, nice to have another girl on here!!

Oh well that's eased me into work some, I better get on with some actual work now...

Happy Birthday Tosh

Today is Mr Mark Toshacks birthday. Im sure you will all join me in wishing him many happy returns.

He is off today for some birthday celebrations but we will be meeting him tonight for a few drinky poo's.

Then he is off to watch Scotland v France tomorrow before jetting off to Montreal and New York on one of his work trips (jollies)

Footy Cancelled

The match this evening between Bolton and Portsmouth has been cancelled due to a flu outbreak

It seems Harry Redknapp is all bunged up and Sam Allardyce hasn't felt 2 grand all week

Mr Benji Potato Head

Sorry Benji I had to do it. After looking at Rusty's pics of saturday night i decided that your extreme closeup had to be violated!!

Weekend Round up

Friday stayed in and watched Rebus - minted, bit different from the books but still cool (heard rumours that Ben didnt like it)

Saturday - Helped Louise move some stuff then We and Yvette met some friends for lunch in the harvester by the motorway - they were driving back with their new baby boy - sooo cool looking. just grinned all the time. then went home and got ready for footy.
we went 1-0 down due to stupid mistake, then Jay Scored, then they scored because a midfielder was defending and booted it straight to their attacker. We then scored again (drew?) and another before half time. 2nd half the flood gates opened - before full time they scored and even more obviously offside goal than newcastles and got their 3rd - but we had already gotton 10 at that point - we won 11-3 in the end :D

Saturday night Yvette and I watched 16 blocks with Bruce willis and mos def with a daft accent. it was ok actually i liked it.

Sunday morning I went to see my nana in Newbury for a few hours. Got back to watch Heart beat Aberdeen 3-1 (so all my teams won :D) and at the same time do more work on Roo and E's website. Sunday night yvette couldnt leave kew (where she works on a sunday) as alarm wouldnt get set. so i went down to sit with her at about 8ish i think, when another girl left, until the gezzer turned up at 9:30! poor bloke the guy came from essex! - for some reason the center didnt send the guy from cardiff! so we got home just in time to start watching Entourage. couldnt get to sleep last night - sodden knackered

ZUNE Release

Thank the lordy. i will be ordering one. Then Im taking my ShitPod out for a little walk over some gravel, then putting 3 10Inch nails through it and then putting down the loo and maybe taking a pee on it. Why? Cos it blows. I thought it was ace for a while but it just sucks, overpriced apple scratch collecting gay icon crap. Last thing I ever buy from them.

Converting all my music. Itunes 7 is a fucking joke, I dunno how many times it has copied all my music to other folders just for the fun of it! Bye bye and welcome my lovely Zune.

Invisible Fire

So my prediction was virually spot on.

Friday, indeed watched Will Ferrell film, very funny, were virtually the only poeple in the cinema as we watched in at 11.50.

Saturday, watched boys play football and filmed it so that they can make a DVD for the end of the season. Then played Halo 2 with my Housemate Marcus, until the Drew and Jay had watched Talladaga Nights, meet them in the 21 Club, took Marcus with me, had to Drive so did not Drink. Had a good night, meet up with Emma and her friends, Becky and the Two Vickys. Went to Blush after and had some more fun. Drove home at 3.30am when Blush closed.

Sunday, Watced a Sharpe at Tosh's, only a few left to go now then we have watched them all. Watched the Football too, popped round to see Jay. Then went home, played more XboX and watched the new Spooks, was really good so i watched tonights episode on BBC3 too. Will watch next weeks on BBC3 tonight.

and that was my weekend that was. Next weekend should be going out for a friends birthday, then the week end after we are off to Prague and then weekend after Drew and I will be off to Canada. Woo Hoo Excitment ahead

Well its the weekend and its what i look forward to from Monday every week. I will probably be able to tell you my weekend now.

Friday, Stayed in and watched TV, tidied the House. Or i will be going to watch the Tallagdaddy Nights - The Ballard of Ricky Bobby.

Saturday, Watched the boys play football in the morning, then went over to their house. Now we may or may not go out, Jay is away but also not very well. Drew and I may, but i will have to try and convice him.

Sunday, probably nothing like every Sunday, unless i get a Unlimited pass for the cinema, in which case i shall be there all day and having a Nando's Lunch.

Weekend? I can't remember a Weekend!

Friday
Went to boys, got in the sunshine bus and went to play Pool in Q-Bar, drank some beer, played some pool, drank some more, then went to Moda with Sparky, Jay and Russ. Dranks some more, danced a bit, Yvette joined us as did Louise, Cat and Charlie. Drank some more, then i remember being back at the boys. Stuff may have happened in between but i don't know what. Managed to get to sleep at 5

Saturday
After 3 hours sleep, i got up at 8. Went to watch the boys play football. Went to town to meet Sara for lunch, went to Blush it is rubbish for food now!! Meet up with the Boys for a bit, then took Yvette and Sara to Glos, went home for a bit. The back to the boys for 6.30, quick change ready for Taxi at 6.45. The we did what tosh said, lots of drinking included. We went to Blush after 21 club, i am not sure what we did whilst i was there, it is just a series of blurred images. I know me and Sparks went to get Chicken after everyone else went, then we got a Taxi home.

Sunday
Again not much sleep, about 4 hours, sent Sparky to Shop for food, then Jay and I made Bacon and Egg Baps for Russ, Drew, Sparks and us. Nice cup of tea too. Spent majority of the day watching TV, Grand Prix and Croc Dundee. We all had a Chinese for Tea, then watched Hostage on Sky Movies. At 10.30 i went home and had some proper sleep.

Weekend round up

Wow its 13:51 and noone has put what they did at the weekend.

On Friday all the lads went to Q bar to play pool. Very good night. Drew and I went home as we had footy the next day - James left too. Jay stayed out coz he can play well better when his is pissed.

Saturday morning we lost 2-0 I had a shocker and to make things worse I pulled a muscle so had to go off.

Sat night we all went out for a proper piss up. Me met up in the conservatory for the footy awards evening. Drew deservedly won the best trainer on Thursdays and player of the season for his amount of goals he scored - highest in the league. I won most improved player - which I won last year too. So basically I am shite hahaha ;)
we all then went to 21 which was ace and all having a good laugh but I couldn't STAND it anymore - my leg was aching so I had to go - bloomin looking fwd to that night too!

Sunday James and I went to the bull ring in brum and I bought a few work shirts/trousers and shoes in preparation for new job starting next week (and also meeting today)

this morning I was up at 5am and got to the London office at 9am! fecking kanckered - getting the 3:30 train back.

Happy Birthday...

Jonno!

Have a great day! x

(I ate the whole thing sorry mate - Ben)

A LEGEND

Stephen Robert "Steve" Irwin (22 February 1962 – 4 September 2006)

Papa Bear is back

Hoy Hoy!

Yvette and I are back after a loverly week in Tenerife, twas great consisted of sunbathing eating and reading. basically thats it. Highlights are:

Scuba diving - 1st time minted I was the only one in my boat that saw a HUGE turtle - well two HUGE turtles. Steve and Mez (his wife) went elsewhere as they have licences. Yvette cant dive.

Water Park - hahaha shit. 23Euro and had to pay for rubber rings also - was a complete rip - only went on 4 slides then we all go bored - was also in playas dos las americos - SCRUB VILLE! jesus.

Books - Read 3 in 3 days. Quentin Jardine (cop in edinburgh novels) Layer cake and also a book where a hibs fan became a hearts fan for a season - the trails and tribulations unfold - really good. got 1/2 way through my 4th which is a book written by the comedian Mark Thomas (who is also coming to cheltenham to talk about it) about the UKs involvment in Arms dealing - very interesting and rather shocking.

Meals - had some quality food and a rather shite chinese meal.

chavs - our hotel - which is usually rather exclusive i will have you know haha was not just the usual "timeshare" for want of a better word - but was also rented out to 1st choice - should be called 1st choice for chavs. jezz tons of them, must have been a quiet time for the hotel. so that was a bit plop as the last time we went it was nice and quiet and no bling or burburry in sight.

Flight - stunk of piss
really it did - they had sommit wrong with a toilet and so we were stuck in the plane for an hour while they fixed it - minging. also the plane company was shite - tons of masking tape holding stuff together - ok on other public transport to and extent not whilst 30,000 feetin the air. they way back wasnt much better. pink panther came on the really small screens (the new version) watched 15mins and took it off - wank film. plane was really dirty again.

so we left at 1am on sat morning and got home at 8 and went to bed and watched Scotland and englands games. minted. then watched lord of war(coz of the book i am reading)

sunday James and i went to the cinema as we have the unlimited viewing, 1st up was Crank - really good Jason Strathem film. just entertaining, alot like transporter really - just mindless fun. Then we met up with Ben and we went to see snakes on a plane. starts off really well with Samuel as FBI agent who protects a kid who witness his dad getting killed by an awful man. and he need to take him to LA from hawaii. BUT the twist is that the baddie has put lots of snakes on the plane - deadly snakes no less to try to kill the lad. what wil happen, will samuel kill all the mother f£"$in snakes? ohhhh

haha it was sooooo bad it was good. hahaha - dont bother with it my friends unless you have the unlimited card - knew it was going to be awful - just wanted to see how bad it was.

cant belive i missed a scanner darkly tho - bugger.

and thats it - got another 2 weeks in my current job!

back to the quiz now (could of played them on holiday but thought nah thats a bit sad :D )

The iPod Rival

Ok so most of us here are fans of Apples ipod and most of us have one. And we all enjoyed many good times with our ipods on lonely winter nights. The world was a better place with them. They gave us back the will to live.

But lately Im more than a little pissed at mine.

1. My ipod is consistanly dying and I have to keep upgrading system software. Its wank

2. DRM is a fucking bitch. it means music I buy and have rights to, i can only play on my fucking ipod. Bollocks if I buy a Cd i can play that shit where i like, why does this have to be different? I want to stream my music to my xbox but half of it dont show up cos its drm'ed. btw there are ways around this cos its not apple that put the drm on its itunes and you can now download direct from apple using other software and avoid the drm. doesnt solve my existing music though.

3. itunes is wank. fucking java stinks. eats up all resources on my pc. Fuck off java you tossers.

4. volume is piss poor on ipod. I want it fucking louder!!!!!

Good news is microsoft are at last releasing what they are callign death of the ipod.

The new player called Zune will include massive colour screen, wi-fi, bluetooth, 30 GB, connectivity to xbox live to play games, xbox, no drm and looks to die for and will be cheaper than ipod. Hooray for MS.

strange video but you can sign up for newletter now

www.comingzune.com

Im getting one, then putting 5 10" masonary nails through mine and im going to enjoy it immensely as my ipod makes that stupid "I'm broken again" face and then dies.

As for Apple, curl up and die like you should have done 10 years ago.

4 Days to many

Only been at work one day and already i want it to be the weekend again. Even with the bonus of a Bank Holiday yesterday the week seems to long already. I think everyone should work a three day week and have four days off. or maybe just do a job you like would be the solution, but i am yet to find someone who is willing to pay me to doss around all day, unlike the Barrett Brothers ;)

Morning!

Hello everyone!

How was everyone’s weekend? Did you make the most of having an extra day off?

I didn’t do much, I just went to Bristol on Sunday to IKEA and Cribbs for something to do…as usual spent lots of money on stuff I didn’t really need but looks nice. Other than that just went for a few drinks and a curry on Saturday night.

One week left here before the start of another academic year and enrolment, I’m dreading it already, we are starting to get busy now and I’m not looking forward to it!

Is the blog going to be quiet without Tosh this week?

a Riddle

"Think of words ending in -GRY. Angry and hungry are two of them. There are only three words in the English language. What is the third word? The word is something that everyone uses every day. If you have listened carefully, I have already told you what it is."

its a blinder - well kinda - ok its not

A newly married couple arrive back at their bridal suite after their wedding celebrations. They begin to get intimate with each other until the bride pulled away slightly.

“I have a secret, which I must tell you before we go any further. I am not a virgin. I once had a brief fling with Tiger Woods”

The guy raises his eyebrows, but allays his new bride’s fears by saying, “That’s ok darling, we all have a past. It’s our future that is more important.” With this the couple embrace and make passionate love all over the bridal suite, screaming the place down as they reach their peak. Exhausted, but very pleased with his performance, the groom gets up and pads over to the telephone and picks it up.

“What are you doing?” she asks.

“Calling room service, I’m a bit peckish now.”

“Tiger didn’t do that.”

“Oh? What did Tiger do?”

“He came back to bed and made love to me a second time.”

With that, the groom put down the phone and joined his wife back in the bed and put in another sterling performance. A little while afterwards, he got up and walked over to the phone and picked it up.

“What are you doing?” she asked.

“Well, I’m still peckish, so I was going to call Room Service.”

“Tiger didn’t do that.”

“Really? What did Tiger do?”

“He came back to bed and made love to me for a third time.”

So the groom replaced the handset and rejoined his new wife in the bed and put in another excellent shift. A little while afterwards, he again went to the phone and picked it up.

“What are you doing?”

“I’m starving now love, I was going to call room service for a bit of nosh.”

“Tiger didn’t do that”

“No? What did Tiger do?”

“He came back to bed and made love to me for a fourth time.”

A bit weary now, the groom put down the phone. He was so eager to please his new wife that he rejoined her in bed and put in a bit of quality overtime. A short time afterwards, the groom got out of bed, walked over to the phone and picked it up.

“What are you doing?”

“I’m calling Tiger Woods to find out what the bloody par is on this hole!”
