What A Weekend

Busy Busy Busy.... i wasn't at all. Stayed in Friday night watching TV. Watched all the Sky+ programs that had been recorded over the week on Saturday, until midnight when i had to get Sara from work. Sunday got up and went to buy stuff for roast dinner. Yum Yum it was good. Fell alseep in front ot the TV whilst watching 'The Burbs' (classic Tom Hanks). Took Sara home before coming back to watch some more TV with James who had come over to visit. Tosh got back a few hours before he told Yvette he would, he was going to suprise her but she sent him a message and got a delivery report which tipped her off he was in the country (next time keep it off till your back at the house buddy). Then Sunday was over it was time for sleep so i could be ready for work today.

I am in NY

After work yesterday I met my big cuz for a drink - she has just got an apartment over here, looks nice 1/2 way up central park to the east by about 8 blocks.

I then left her at 7ish and went back to my hotel to grab my camera for the Knick game, i thought i would get a ticket from the touts outside. but then i thought i would ask the concerige if they had them. she did - woo hoo. 60 bucks -30 quid. so i jumped into a taxi with 15mins till kick off (or whatever the basket ball equiv is?

it was really good - the final score was 93 all so they had to play overtime, the sacremeto kings won in the end but just coz they got loads of free throws and scored with them. they also had Mike Bibby on there team he scored tons of points - mostly 3 pointers.

Is Tosh really in NY or York

Ok here is why i think this. He posted a blog linking to a site aout how to cheat on you woman which was written by a guy in Japan. This had then given him the idea about how he can go to "New York" when he is secretly just gone to York for work. Ahhh, i hear you say what about the pictures he posted!! Well he is not in them is he, so he looked round the internet and found some snaps others had taken or New York, looked on the Sopranos site for some pics of New Jersey, pic of times square really easy to get. The stories about new york easierly made up!!

So until we have a picture of tosh with todays New York Times in his hand in Times square or with the Statue of Liberty in the backround or other famous landmark i can not believe him !!!

Taxi ride of filth

I forgot to tell you a story of my taxi ride into NY on sat.

as we were driving in the Spanish/Mexican taxi driver starts to tell me for no reason what so ever about his love life. he is dating a Colombian woman. With apparently a great body – lovely tities and nice ass man! Yes he sounds like cheech and chong.

He tells me that he used to go and “massages” from her – I thought mmmm ok. But nothing else just massages. “she massages shit”

After a while they start seeing each other. And the sex is amazing – he says for the 1st few months no sex. Then he said when they did it was “nice man” she likes to go down on him and he likes to lick her in the something or other but I couldn’t understand but I think we can guess what – he says that 69s are great. So this really goes on for about ¾ of the journey which is a long one. Get this she then calls! He then puts the phone on loud speaker and says listen to her she is dirty. I was like – eh ok. But then the whole convo was in SPANISH (I don’t speak Spanish) and he kept turning round and winking at bits that must have been rude – and I had to wink back. Not a clue.

After the call he says that he is going round after he drops me off for Amour! Thanks for that padre.

After all that though he explained how he pays for ½ her rent but dosnt live with her as he wants to be a man and not under the thumb basically and free to see other people – she has worked him – he pays half her rent remember. But the stuff he was coming out with was well rude- imagine what he tells to his best mates!

Haha also as we drove into Manhattan he goes “here’s our anthem” I thought shit! How dull – but no he has a CD of Sinatra’s New Yok song, so “start spreading the news……” bellowed out of the speakers! He must do that every day!

Anyway back to work

The Sopranos

So i went to new jersey yesterday to see a client.

got on the train at Penn station - under the garden (thats Madison square garden to noo yorkurs) went 2 odd hours east i think.

anyway gave a presentation to our customer got shown around there campus and returned. Got back to NYC at 7:15 - grabbed a bit to eat then watch twin town on my lappy in my room - i was knackered. long day and i also keep waking up before 6am every morning.

so i managed to take 4 pics on my camera phone so here they are. it is a stereotypical small town with the stars and stripes hanging from everything.

oh and the New season of the sopranos starts in March - better start watching the others when i get back!

Sad Day, A momnet please to remember Chris Penn

Actor Chris Penn, brother of Sean Penn and star of such films as Reservoir Dogs and Mulholland Falls, was found dead Tuesday at a condominium in Santa Monica; he was 43. Few details were released surrounding Penn's death late Tuesday afternoon, though sources reported there were no signs of foul play, and an autopsy was to be conducted to determine the cause of death. A spokesperson for the Penn family confirmed the actor's passing and released a statement saying that Penn's family "would appreciate the media's respect of their privacy during this difficult time." The son of director Leo Penn and actress Eileen Ryan, Penn was the younger brother of Oscar-winning actor Sean Penn and musician Michael Penn, and began his acting career in the early 80s, appearing in such films as Rumble Fish, All the Right Moves, and Footloose; he appeared alongside his brother in the 1986 film At Close Range. Penn went on to specialize in working-class character roles, achieving fame for his portrayal of Nice Guy Eddie Cabot in Quentin Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs as well as such films as Short Cuts, The Funeral (for which he received an Independent Spirit Award nomination), and Mulholland Falls. Most recently, he appeared in the film version of Starsky & Hutch as well as episodes of TV series Entourage and Everwood, and his latest film, The Darwin Awards, was slated for a premiere Wednesday night at the Sundance Film Festival.

2nd post of the day - Recent Movies!

Welcome to film blog 2006

this week i watched 4 films. 3 on a plane and one in the cinema. i want to tell you what i thought.

number one when the virgin entertainment let me on after having to sit through 30mins of news and adverts i selected 4 brothers. this has mark Whalberg and andre benjamin (aka andre 3000).

it is about 4 brothers (what a clever name of film) who were adopted by a nice woman off the sreets after noone else wanted them. but woe......the old woman got shot. the brothers reunited to try to track the killers!

it was a good film will watch it again as the 2 inch screen on the plane didnt do it justice - but at least i had my ultimate earphones - so the sound was good. well worth a watch - and its a 15 so not too violent - but there is enough gunfire to satisfy you James!

the next film i decided to put on was The brothers Grimn - it was grim dont bother - i fell asleep part way through and woke up t ofind i dont think i missed anything - it is plop.

there was a whole host of movies to choose from - but i decieded to pick ones which i was not likly to see, (apart from 4 bros which ben has on order!) so the next film was Sky high. this is about a mum and dad who are superheroes and their son who is about to attened a secondary school for super kids. trouble and strife ensues. i have to admit it was a funny film. i am glad i didnt go and see it in the cinema as it was obvious what was gonna happen but it was a fun movie and Kurt Russell as the kids father was ace. one for DVD if you want a popcorn flick and something to veg infront of and there isntanything else ;).

the final film i saw was King Kong woo hoo finally saw it (read below blog). it was long yes! you didnt see kong until an hour in but it was cool! the dinos attacking kong was ace. 3 t-rexs all trying to deck kong and eat the girl was minted.
The special effects were cool to and the action was superb. jack Black was ace as a smarmy director/producer and the rest of the cast was good too- kong looked quality and andy serkis got the gorillas movements to a tee. i would have liked to see more on NY getting trampled but the NY scene was well done.
if you aint seen it - go and see it - but not in chelts - your arse will get sore. glad i saw it in a cinema with reclining seats.

oh and my screen was on the 7th floor! there was 42 screens in the cinema i went to last night - effin huge!

until next time

Hay Youse - I am walking here!

So as you know I am over in out NY office. i am training our GTS team (in old money = Helpdesk)

i arrived sat about 6:30pm NY time so 11:30GMT after getting up at 7am to get a taxi to heathrow.

Saturday night i went out to get a chinese takeaway and wandered around abit 1st then went back to my room and watched the 1st 2 episodes of 24 - MINTED!

Sunday after 9hours sleep i went to have breakfast - £10 for a cooked breakfast! mmm thats alot. but the yanks sure know how to eat brekkie!

i then went around the shops for a couple of hours. i then got bored - i saw a few things. jeans and a top. might buy them later on in the week. after being bored (yvette will tell you about me shopping!) i went back for a snooze - jet lag kicking in.

watched 2 more episodes of 24 EVEN BETTER! then sadly went to the cinema on my own :( - hahaha Finally saw King Kong - i thought it was ace! there was one ropey scene of CGI but most films with loads of CGI have ropey scenes.

today started work at 8am and did a 2hr training session - got another one in 1/2 hour. Tomorrow i am off to see a customer in New jersey. going on a choo choo train.

also today found out another Scot from our UK office is here - he wants to go to NBA on wednesday too. he is also in the same hotel and has been since last wednesday! woo hoo so wont be as bored.

it aint the same if you are over here by yourself.

well here is pics of my hotel room and the view as soon as i go out the main door.

Monday Yeah !!

Well we have come round to the start of the week again. Another exciting week of passing the time till we can go home, or for Tosh see the sights. I think we should all comment on our best time wasting tricks, therefore helping everyone get through the week a little easier.

Not having a Whale of a time

Oh deer the poor whale died when they tried to take it back out to sea, they are not sure if it's because of illness or just the shock of the rescue attempt.

Having a Whale of a time...

yeah it is true a whale has been spotted in the Thames, many believe it has swam up the river in order to lobby for Whale rights in the commons. Whilst experts think that it may have been following fish upsteam and become disorientated.

Big Brother

Did you hear Michael Barrymore is in trouble again in the big brother house...

HAHAHA minted

hahaha - A monkey checks out a puppy's manhood, and then rolls back in laughter at its modest size...

For Five Mins

I thought it was Wednesday and was only two days away from the weekend, but no i am wrong its Tuesday and i am still climbing the hill to mid week. I can see the top but am yet to start coasting on the downslide to the weekend. Damn i hate it when that happens, oh well back to daydreaming. zzzzzzzzzzzzz

Irish Toast.

John O'Reilly hoisted his beer and said, "Here's to spending the rest of
me life, between the legs of me wife!"

That won him the top prize at the pub for the best toast of the night!

He went home and told his wife, Mary, "I won the prize for the best
toast of the night. "

She said, "Aye, did ye now. And what was your toast?"

John said, "Here's to spending the rest of me life, sitting in church
beside me wife."

"Oh, that is very nice indeed, John!" Mary said.

The next day, Mary ran into one of John's drinking buddies on the street
corner. The man chuckled leeringly and said, "John won the prize the
other night at the pub with a toast about you, Mary."

She said, "Aye, he told me, and I was a bit surprised meself. You know,
he's only been there twice in the last four years. Once he fell asleep,
and the other time I had to pull him by the ears to make him come."

Find out tonight, as "24"'s 5th season starts with a 2-hour premiere, 8/7c on Fox.

I will see when its on over here :D - i might catch the repeat this sat/sun when i am in NY :D

joke

Man goes to see the Doctor

"Doctor I think I have caught that bird flu that's going around"

"What makes you think that sir?"

(next comment for punchline.......its a cracker)

JACK IS BACK

24 season 5 trailers online here

i have also get a decent (ben ;) ) copy of the 10 min clip which is what happens between seasons 4 and 5 - it is minted cant wait :D

New Car

On Monday i picked up an Audi A4 Sports cabriolet. it is 3ltr, electric roof, leather electric seats, climate control which enables passenger and driver to have different heat seatings. it is comfortable, the seats mold to your back in lots of different settings lots of safety features.

BUT

I dont like it that much. The drive is good but I am not enjoying driving it. It is boring and the size of an aircraft carrier. I miss the fun of the mx5 low rear wheel drive car with a great close gear box and you feel everything of the road. The Audi just goes smoothly over every surface of the road.

Strange eh!?
