Football training - the aftermath

So I went to footy training for the 1st time in 3 months.

It was GREAT! Absolutely loved it. I could run kick (the ball and a wee bit of Jays ankle). I was however knackered and wheezing like an asthmatic ant carry a heavy shopping bag.

This morning I am not stiff or feeling the effects.

Jay did skin me twice last night but I did use my power - or excess weight to get away from him in one occasion, and I marked my return with a screamer or a goal.

So really happy now I can play sport again............Till the next injury!

Speeling and Grammur

Dont you find that with using Word every day your speeling and grammur goes downhill. look at my previous post - people rely too heavily on word to correct spelling and change i to I and insert capitals to beginning of sentences people just dont bother - see i missed the 't on the dont - word usually changes that for me. and the a on and - should be a capital!

OK i know this is a blog and like MSN rules dont really apply but thought i would mention it too - hang on just noticedthe spell check button at the top.........lets see what happens.

got the Speeling and Grammer (deliberate mistakes)

got the 1st dont
changed look to Look
wanted to change i to I
and to And
ironically didnt even find blog! wanted to change it to bloc/Bloch/blows/bloke etc hahaha
MSN isnt in the spell check
capital for Lets
nothing for noticedthe

and thats it - so spull checker is ok - not great. But we realy to heavily on them. My english used to be ace now its shit!

Football Training

Just thought i would let you all know i am going back to footy training tonight as my knee is feeling good! HOORAH! 1st time i have done sport in about 3 months! cant wait. so hopefully i will be able to play squash again. trouble is footy training stops for a month after tonight (can still play with work tho)

so i will let you know tomorrow how it went! - if you are actaully THAT bothered!

For Rent...

12-13 Bath Road should soon be up for rental. A fantastic property which can be used as a bar, club or resturant. Formally one of the top Cheltenham nightclub (the largest capacity in town). Due to lack of custom it has unfortunatly had to close with all staff losing their jobs the very last Thursday when they were told that they would not be opening from that day onwards. For some reason they could not pull in the punters!

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha how i laugh!!!! Farewell the Fez

Thank You Very Much.....

... to Emma and Sparky for letting us stay. It was a minted weekend. I am still knackered from all the excitment that we all had down with you guys. Sparky was on top form with new sparkism that still make me chuckle now.

"I was trying to unlock the batchroom and oooh" he commented when we got back in, when he broke the bathroom lock (yes another door the boy is cursed) and dropped the lock in his water. "Ooooh it tastes oil-ey" came next.

"Oh I know this is it Bleh-ware" he managed to say instead of Baywatch on Sunday morning.

I could go on and on!

Again thank you so so much again, Emma and Sparkle. See you guys when you come down for the July Birthday Weekender!

What Combat Weaponry Are You?

Light weight and agile you fight as though you have something to prove. Speed and agility are your strong points. You can scrap with the big dogs though they tire you out quicker.

They dont tire me out - I keep on truckin'! (well i used to not been in a fight since i was 17!)

The oBLOGatory Weekend Review

We all went down to Southampton on Friday, Me Yvette, james,Ben,Drew,J (and Yvettes pal Hebs) to see Sparky and Emma - the occasion Emmas birthday.

We got there at tea time and had Pizza. Then everyone apart from me and james went out (we were knakered - tough week at work...WHAT! it was!) the rest said they were just going out for an hour or so. at 3am they returned! haha our for a few cheekys always turns into a piss up.

Saturday morning James and I went to Portsmouth to the shops (we wanted to go to the Oakley one) it was ok - more of an outlet of Oakley stuff. But i still managed to spend a fair bit. some of the other shops were good too.

We got back at aout 12 and the lads were just getting/finished getting ready, we then went to the park to play footy. whilst the girls were wandering around Southampton.

After a spot of lunch we went back to the flat where i think everyone went to sleep.

After tea (lovely chili by Em) and the footy we went to Bournmouth on a night out. Was a really good laugh.

Sunday morning yvette had to be at work for 11 so me james and Yvette got up early to drive back.

James and I (who did alot over the weeked together ;) ) went to see Fearless - Jet Li film. This was really great apart from the dialogue. it was subtiltled but the transaltion was awful. I wish they would get someone to translate it THEN get a decent script writer in to change it. but that was it good film.

afterwards we went to the boys to catch the England match! not a great game. then Yvette and i got a curry from the newly refurbed Balti Walla (just called Balti now)

i had a Chicken passanda- very nice it was too - not a big fan of the rice thou.
Yvette had Lamb Tikka pieces - she said they were nice but too few and a bit overcooked - her onion bajis were lovely tho. maheks next time then.

we then (well i did Yvette fell asleep) watched the Holland Portugal game - that was Ace i wanted it to go to extra time to see how many more people would get sent off - 14 yellow cards and 4 reds! minted game! hahaa ref was a tit. the game should have been a specticle of football not the ref making a specticle of himself!

oh well monday back to work!

Good Morning!

Hello everyone, how are you all? What did you do over the weekend?

I was of course a bridesmaid at Sarah's wedding on Friday. It was a lovely (though long) day, the service was a civil service so that was over and done with quickly but the photos took forever. (I've got my memory card with me so if I can figure out how to post pictures maybe I will later) The meal etc was lovely, the best men's speech was very funny too. The weather was nice so we all just sat out in the evening until it got too cold then went and enjoyed the disco. I was the only one who ripped my dress (it was too long and i stood on it and put a shoe heel through it) but luckily no one noticed!!

On Saturday I helped out waitressing for the fella again - was not impressed, was so hungover and had the shakes which was not much fun! Fell asleep watching the footie in the evening but managed one beer!

On Sunday I helped out again - now done 2 weeks of solid working which would be ok if i was getting paid to help out at the weekends!! Pretty much 99% of the customers were right pains in the arse so was well annoyed. But, we shut at 2pm so we could dash home and see Elton John who was playing at the cricket ground in Taunton. He was really good, it was odd at first because every one was sat down out in the sun on really uncomfortable chairs but Elton told off the security guards and let everyone stand up and have a dance. He played my favourite 3 songs and saved the best till last so I was happy! It was a great show, I really enjoyed it.

Two things I want to discuss

Firstly, Ben. Please get rid of that stupid Football news bar as it covers half of the most recent message of the blog!!!! FFS we all know and can use www.bbc.co.uk Thankyou

Secondly. England

Firstly it the last two games were as I mentioned last week. Group phase England will struggle. Why? Because Underdog teams like Trinidad and Paraguay will set their stall out to defend, men behind the ball and wait for a counter. England CANNOT BREAK TEAMS DOWN when they have 10 men behind the line.

Why? Simple, English players for the most part are unwilling or unable to take a man on. Its always draw the man, pass, draw the man , pass. This is simple to defend unless you start playing 1-2's which none did last night. Exceptions to this rule, Joe Cole. He can take players on but had a poor game last night and everyone is entitled to that. Arron Lennon. Wow this boy is a gem. Notice how much the game turned when T&T relaised oh fuck this guy is running at us. Rooney, he can do this also and Owen but useually when its just 1 on 1. Walcott by all accounts will run at defenders. This is good. But Erikson needs to realise he needs attacking options, Crouch /Owne is ineffective in games where there is little space round the back for Owen to run on to and lets be honest, Crouch is just an average League player. he does alright but is not strong/fast/skillful enough to be world class striker like Shreaer of old. Against teams willing to attack a bit more, like Sweden will next week, you watch England will do well maybe win by 3 or 4 goals.

But, I think the future it a little dim for England in regards to attacking football and taking on the man, and i think this goes deeper than just the players available. I will try and explain why.... I dont know if anyone remembers a very young Beckham, Owen or Gerrard. I do. These guys were gifted youngster full of confidence and would RUN at defences with the ball. This made them exciting to watch and has made them houshold names they are today. But you look at last nights game. None of them did this. Rooney has been doing it less of late and I bet as you watch Arron develop and Walcott they will be less willing to take players on as well. WHY???? English Coaches. England if full to the brim with "Old school" coaching. Players like Becks and Gerrard and Rooney will have the inate ability to run past defenders coached out of them. Its very sad but everyone asks why Brazil are so good, they have it built in from day one that they must be able to beat the man and this is encouraged. English coaches liek set formations, pass and move, long balls and attacking down the wings. If you notice most of brazil's goals will come through the middle. Agreies are the same because their technical skill is so much higher. England need to improve ther eif they are to become a true world force. English game is predicatbale. Players cant take on defenders so it goes down the wings for crosses. Its effective but one dimensional. THats why when owen came on the scene he was such a revelation. This kid ran around the back. Wow... look at him go. He wont do that so much now though... he gets ball, looks to play it and get in box. Owen of 17 would just run at the goal and support had just better keep up.

Good news is i think England have such a strong back line that they will go very far in this cup if they can get goals. I think Erikson needs shooting fo rhis choice of strikers to take on tour. Look who he has taken...

Crouch _ Average 1 dimensional League player. This guy was in Championship last season and has had a poor Season in Premiership with liverpool. Compare crouch to Owen or Fowler when they played thier first season at liverpool.

Owen... Been out most of the season so is off form. its kind of the Jonny Wilkinson of football, poor guy I feel sorry for him. He is nowhere near ready for International football and as such people critique him for being so crap. he just aint ready and its coaches fault not his. Not just that, other english players have played so long without him they need to get used to how he playes again. There is a real lackof communication between attack and rest of the players.

Rooney... great he's fit and should go. but he isnt 100% yet. So who can you play instead.

Walcott.... never played a premiership game and looks like Erikson is saving him for soemthing? but what??? This kid needs to play so he can learn the game and othe rplayers get used to how he plays. Really stupid taking him as he is not an option.

How much better would england be with a powerhouse forward liek bent or silk skills of Defoe? Aye they aint played the best this season but AT LEAST THEY PLAYED!! I just hpe rooney can get his match awreness back quickly because he is the real cutting edge in attack right now. Or maybe owen getting a goal and some confidence will help. Good thing I think for England is they have more open games comming up which should allow attackers a bit more spcae around the back.

If I were playing england though, I would look at Trinidad's tactics which were ace... you see how the two attackers split and tracked the Wing backs... so only the Centre backs could play the ball forward? Awesome. Anyways, yup if I were the Sweedes I would play like Trinidad. Just imagine how bad it could have been yesterday if Trinidad had some really quality about them. Would have been dire!!!!

Saturday or Sunday?

So we will definatly be watching the first knockout game with Sparks in Southampton. But will it be the Saturday or Sunday game? and who will will play, Ecuador the dark horse could win the group if they draw with Germany, which means if England stay at the top of the group the dreaded England-Germany match will come around.

What do you guys think??

And no one talk about how crap they thought the game was yesterday. England won 2-0, 3 points, England were dominante for the majority of the game, T&T virtually had 11 men behind the ball all the time so if was difficult. Terry was f@cking ace and a life saver. Arron Lennon great, lifted the team, Yes they missed a couple of sitters but we won so shut up.

On a final note lets have a thought about poor old Dwight Yorke's davinas. 100 million people saw him showing his balls skills!

Good Luck England

Hope they do well today and win it for my English friends back in chelts.

plasma/xbox 360/amp setup

Fianlly got my xbox hooked up to amp and tv via composite cables (with help of james). Xbox 360 is now in 5.1 surround and the picture quaility is ACE. James has a theory that my amp sharpens the picture even more - who needs HD! the DVD quality is minted too.

so playing GRAW last night in a mission that was raining, the rain was out the rear speakers and when i was shooting within a massive pipe the sound was as if i was actually in a pipe. was loving it.

now got more acheivements than sparks on Graw ;) need to play it more - i have 4 games to choose from not one ;)

GAME 2

Well its the dawn of another day for English Football over in Germany. The tiny T&T team are going to take to the pitch with our boys to battle it out for 90 mins.

Question is where are you watching this game?

World Cup

Cracking games yesterday, Spain were minted, even the Tunisia v Saudi Arabia game was exciting and Poland were unlucky agains the Germans.

Looks like England could be playing Ecuador in the 2nd round, if we can beat Trinidad and Tobago this afternoon.

I'm finishing at 2 so Drew and i are off to the pub at half 3 to get a seat and watch the game.

Hopefully England will perform better than against Paraguay (esp in the 2nd half) but as long as they win thats all i care about.

My Weekend

Hello Peoples.

My weekend was great drove up to chelts on friday night stopping off for a BK on the way. Arrived in chelts at about 8:15 and watched footie with Jay and Drew and celebrated Klose scoring 2 goals only to find I changed him from my captain to Christino Ronaldo who diddnt score any points cos he was substituted at 59 mins (he has to play 60). Bugger.

Anyways played some Pro evo soccer and then went to bed. Sat got up early and got my hair cut and then came back for the BBQ at the boys house. Was fab as about 15 people turned up, including a lot of Bedfordshire(which I call essex) girls turned up which I gained a lot of amusement from taking the piss out of thier accents.

Got drunk, got fed and watched some unimportant footie match. Then we went out about 8:30 into town and had some drinks in Strand and then Q Bar. We then headded off to blush where it was WAYYYYYYYYYY too hot. People began to fall by the wayside at about 1, ended up being me Ben, Wee Toshack and Charlie danciong away till 3am. Came home, went to bed and stupidly woke up at 7am. So now knacked. Drove back to Southampts after some lunch with the boys. All in all a top weekend.

My Weekend

Good morning!

How were your weekends? Mine was great, on Friday night after work I went and picked up my new car which is well cool! Didn't get back to Stow until midnight and didn't go to bed until 2am.

Saturday I agreed to help out in the cafe that the fella is running at the mo - that entailed me being a waitress which was ok, I think I must have lost half a stone in weight running up and down the stairs and I earnt £6 in tips so I can't have been that terrible! We had to shut up shop for a couple of hours when the football was on though I thought it was a boring game really. In the evening was going to go out for a meal but was too tired so just got a take away and watched football.

Sunday helped out in the cafe but was really tired and grumpy so only got £3 in tips...definately not going to give up my day job! Finished early and went to get some food before heading back to Devon. Got to drive my car down from the Cheltenham junction on the M5 all the way down, tried not to speed and get a ticket on my first real day of driving it!!

Got woken up by a huge thunder and lightning session at about 4am and didn't get to sleep until about half 5 so am knackered now! Did anyone else get it?

For John....

After John wrote "Well if you weren't all too busy wearing skirts, head butting each other and eating turnips you might have found the time to create your own television channels, radio shows, newspapers and clean drinking water." in the comments of "Why The Home Countries dont want Eng-er-land to win" I thought i would post this:

Whas like us...

As the average Englishman moves about the home he calls his castle, watch him enjoy a typical English breakfast of toast and marmalade invented by Mrs Keiller of Dundee, Scotland; see him slipping into his national costume, a soiled raincoat, patented by Charles MacIntosh, a Glasgow druggist; and follow his footsteps over the linoleum flooring invented in Kirkcaldy, Scotland.

On The Road Out he goes - along the English lane surfaced by John MacAdam of Ayr, Scotland (known as the MacAdamized road), smoking an English cigarette, first manufactured by Robert Croag of Perthshire, Scotland. He hops aboard an English bus, which is using tyres invented by John Boyd Dunlop, of Dreghorn, Scotland and later completes his journey by rail. (A reminder the James Watt of Greenock, Scotland invented the Steam Engine). At the office he is presented with the morning mail containing adhesive stamps invented by John Chalmers of Dundee, Scotland; and periodically during the day, he reaches for the telephone, invented by Alexander Graham Bell, born of Scottish parents.

At home in the evening, our English cousins wife is preparing his national dish of roast beef of old England - prime Aberdeen Angus, raised in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. This sets the patriotic heart beating a little faster, and he enters the dining room whistling "Ye Mariners of England" written and composed by Thomas Campbell of Glasgow, Scotland. After dinner there follows a scene typical of English domestic bliss. Young Albert is packed off to Boys Brigade, founded by Sir William Smith of Glasgow, Scotland; Ted goes to the Scouts, the present Chief of which is Sir Charles MacLean of Duart, Scotland; and little Ethel plays on her bicycle, invented by Kirkpatrick MacMillan, a blacksmith of Dumfries, Scotland. Mother, in the kitchen, bleaches clothes with bleach invented by James McGregor of Glasgow, Scotland. dad listens to the news on the television, invented by John Logie Baird of Helensburgh, Scotland, and hears an item about the United States Navy, founded by John Paul Jones, of Kirkbean, Scotland. Maybe, just maybe, he will remember that the radar with which the U.S. and other fleets are equipped was invented by Sir Robert A. Watson Watt, of Brechin, Scotland.

Once the children come home, Dad supervises the homework, using logarithms invented by John Napier of Edinburgh. The English course contains familiar books such as "Treasure Island" by Robert Louis Stevenson, and "Robinson Crusoe", based on the life of Alex Selkirk, of , Scotland. If by now he has been reminded too much of Scotland, he may in desperation pick up the bible - here at last to have something without Scottish associations; but he is disillusioned - the first man mentioned in the bible is a Scot, James VI, who authorised its translation. Its hopeless. Nowhere he can turn to escape the efficiency and ingenuity of the Scots. He could take a drink - but we supply the best in the world. He could stick his head in the oven - but the coal gas was discovered by William Murdoch of Ayr, Scotland. He could take rifle and blow his brains out, but. of course the breach loading rifle was invented by a Scot. Anyway, if he survived, injured, he would simple find himself on an operating table, injected with Penicillin, discovered by Alexander Flaming of Darvel, Scotland; given an anaesthetic discovered by James Young Simpson of Bathgate, Scotland; and operated on be antiseptic surgery pioneered at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. On coming out of the anaesthetic, he would probable take no comfort in learning from his surgeon that he was as safe as the Bank of England, founded by William Paterson of Dumfries, Scotland.

Poor fellows only hope would be to receive a transfusion of good SCOTs blood which would entitle him to ask

"Whas like us?"
Gie few and thur aw deed !

Why The Home Countries dont want Eng-er-land to win

It is common knowledge that Scotland, Wales and both Irish countries dont really support England in competitions. there are a couple of reasons and i will explain them to you - but to understand you really need to be something other than english.

1) The media - this is a HUGE factor. All we hear in the news is about England Footy team. and Wayne rooneys broken foot. Today the THIRD story was about Al-Quedia's Iraqi leader has been killed- i am sorry that is more important than Ronneys foot. Then after the news and it went to sport they taked about how Roooooney was back in Germany - so TWO stories about him. Also every time a competion is on the media always refer back to 19 sodden 66 (no sour grapes for me Scotland will never win the world cup as we dont have enough people to chose from to get a decent side) but because england won it 40 years ago the press recon that they will win it again and refer back to 40 years ago EVERYTIME they talk about the world cup (Scotland beat England in there 1st game after they won the world cup) there is too much media attention and people are sick of it. I know i live in England but everyone else in the UK gets BBC and Skysports! there is even more TV programs about England winning the world cup than there is about the da vinci code. its the same with Wimbledon - if Andrew Murrey does well its "the British hopes lie on Murrey" if he looses "the Scot Andy murrey has been knocked out" and the other 2 brits as well are expected to win wimbledon - no they wont as they are not good enough and there is too much pressure on them

2) Flags on cars! HOW annoying are they! no other country has them - it adds to the rep that they are a bunch of scrubbers and hooligans! 10 years ago they would of been accused of being in the BNP - oh and now stickers on the cars too! dear god!

3) The fact the EVERY englisman thinks that we will be supporting anyone else - fine we will.

I want England to do as well as they can - just not win it - we wont hear the last of it. But with the pressure of the media i dont think they will. They have a superb team full of superstars so they have a chance.

Still cant wait till it all starts tho!

Doctors

So i went to the DR's yesterday about my knee - sounds like a joke!

he tested it and thinks its a hammy strain - i aint convinced neither is Jay or James as it has been 6+ weeks since i did it. so i will get a 2nd opinon and get reffered to a BUPA specialist.

The doc was more interested in my joints and my left ankle in particular. seeing as they are still seriously stiff all the time and physio didnt work last year. so I had to go back yesterday and have blood tests -results tomorrow - so unless i have something major i will let you know the results.

It's Getting Closer

Only a couple of days to go until the World Cup, the tension is building, the fever is rising, the excitment is peaking, you can cut it with a knife. Hopefully the boys will have the intestinal-fortitude to go the distance. Remember that it is a funny old game, of two halves. The have to play till the whistle. etc etc

Car Insurance

I'm trying to sort out my car insurance for Friday when I get to pick up my new car and Budget who I currently insure with say that they will start a new insurance policy for 12 months for £338. They say if I choose to cancel my policy and go elsewhere I will get charged £55 cancellation fee and since I paid the whole of my insurance up front I would only get £50.19 back. Rubbish! I thought I could pay some extra and just keep my policy going until November when I could renew it and check out all the options then.

Just out of interest who do you insure your cars with and did they have any good offers (i.e. I get free RAC cover included - luckily after the other weeks experience!!)??

Sparky Watch 2006

Has anyone got any news on Mr Mark Jones, he seems to have vanished from the radar.

This is could mean a number of things, he has been fired from his job hence no email, his brain stopped working (he is old remember), or i think he got a golden ticket in his Kit Kat and is going to go on Big Brother.

Question is has any of us tried to call him to see if he is OK?

My Weekend

My weekend by Amy Green aged 27 (until Friday, sob!!)

I did hardly anything since the sun was out all weekend except for read my new book and sunbathe - as a result I have a messy house that i've not bothered to clean but worst of all very pink shoulders which are extremely sore and strap marks! Tragic!

Just went up town to withdraw the money for my car - how exciting. Also managed to buy two pairs of shoes on the way back to work. Oops.

Jays Weekend

By James Barrett age 12

Friday i also went out with the boys and threw some shapes.

Saturday i also went to the pub for lunch and England game.

I then drove to Bristol to see my dad, big bro and his family. Had a very nice time, was good to see my bro and my niece and nephew, although i didn't get much sleep. I had to read my nephew 2 bedtime stories (he is 4) but he still wouldn't go to bed as he said it wasn't nightime as it was still light outside.

Eventually he went to bed after i promised i would stay in the room with him, i watched some telly with my sister in law then went to sleep downstairs, at 4:10am i heard noises upstairs and realised my nephew must have woken up and seen i was not in the room, he must of thought it was morning and starting running round the house making noise.

Got him back to bed then was woken up by my dad making a brew at 5:30am, crazy fool, then was woken again when my niece woke up and started to bawl her eyes out at 6:30am.

Had brekkie at my dads, Russ came over then we went to see my mum and her fella whose birthday it was, had a nice lunch and a little snooze then drove home.

Drew, Louise and Cat were having a Lord of the Rings marathon so i sat and did some work whilst the last film was on, had some tea and went to bed.

Today i drove to work for an appointment, got there to find the person i was seeing was on holiday, so at home now writing this.

Looking forward to the World Cup, bbq on Sat should be good, i am painting my face and Sparks is coming up if he hasn't disappeared off the face of the planet.

My New Car

I finally found a new car! Yay! It's a peugeot 106 gti just like I wanted, completely unmodified, 6 cd changer thingy, electric windows (probably standard on your cars but still a novelty for me!), alloys etc...and it's black - perfect! We had to travel all the way up to St Albans to see it after work and i'm going to pick it up next Friday at the latest (which is also my birthday btw!)

Came home via Stow which is very close to those of you in Chelts - I could see it all lit up in the distance. It was 11.30pm otherwise I would have called round for a cuppa! The fella is moving up that way today which is pretty rubbish but it's on a half here half there kind of basis at the moment. Perhaps i'll go up and visit sometime and come via Chelts and say hello - that or I might talk Ella into coming to Chelts again for some shopping.

I didn't get home till 1am so am completely pooped today. Playing tennis after work too - bet i'll be rubbish today then!!

BBC are broadcasting world cup live on their internet site. I have just bought a USB device that will give me all the freeview channels - typical. BUT with EVERYONE trying to log onto the BBC to watch games i think it could get slow - but we will just have to see.
