You can not say the second part of a trilogy is better than the first. The first part deals with introducing all the characters and plot development most of the time. The other thing about trilogies is that they are trilogies and therfore have to be counted as a single thing. You can just watch Two Towers but if you have not seen Fellowship and never watch Return in will make frick all sense!
