Welcome to film blog 2006
this week i watched 4 films. 3 on a plane and one in the cinema. i want to tell you what i thought.
number one when the virgin entertainment let me on after having to sit through 30mins of news and adverts i selected 4 brothers. this has mark Whalberg and andre benjamin (aka andre 3000).
it is about 4 brothers (what a clever name of film) who were adopted by a nice woman off the sreets after noone else wanted them. but woe......the old woman got shot. the brothers reunited to try to track the killers!
it was a good film will watch it again as the 2 inch screen on the plane didnt do it justice - but at least i had my ultimate earphones - so the sound was good. well worth a watch - and its a 15 so not too violent - but there is enough gunfire to satisfy you James!
the next film i decided to put on was The brothers Grimn - it was grim dont bother - i fell asleep part way through and woke up t ofind i dont think i missed anything - it is plop.
there was a whole host of movies to choose from - but i decieded to pick ones which i was not likly to see, (apart from 4 bros which ben has on order!) so the next film was Sky high. this is about a mum and dad who are superheroes and their son who is about to attened a secondary school for super kids. trouble and strife ensues. i have to admit it was a funny film. i am glad i didnt go and see it in the cinema as it was obvious what was gonna happen but it was a fun movie and Kurt Russell as the kids father was ace. one for DVD if you want a popcorn flick and something to veg infront of and there isntanything else ;).
the final film i saw was King Kong woo hoo finally saw it (read below blog). it was long yes! you didnt see kong until an hour in but it was cool! the dinos attacking kong was ace. 3 t-rexs all trying to deck kong and eat the girl was minted.
The special effects were cool to and the action was superb. jack Black was ace as a smarmy director/producer and the rest of the cast was good too- kong looked quality and andy serkis got the gorillas movements to a tee. i would have liked to see more on NY getting trampled but the NY scene was well done.
if you aint seen it - go and see it - but not in chelts - your arse will get sore. glad i saw it in a cinema with reclining seats.
oh and my screen was on the 7th floor! there was 42 screens in the cinema i went to last night - effin huge!
until next time

I quite liked King Kong but the length spoilt it for me, whenever i try and think back about it that's all i can remember!
...I saw it in some cruddy Devon cinema though, reclining seats sounds much more like it!!
