Champions of Europe

The Mighty Liverpool will be bringing home the Champions League Cup for the Nation.

Stupid UEFA are not changing the rules though apparently, c**ts.

ISTANBUL, May 25 (Reuters) - Highlights of the Champions League final between AC Milan (Italy) and Liverpool (England) at the Ataturk Olympic stadium on Wednesday.

1 - GOAL. AC MILAN 1 LIVERPOOL 0. Captain Paolo Maldini puts Milan ahead with a right-foot volley from close to the penalty spot after an Andrea Pirlo freekick on the right.

14 - Milan striker Hernan Crespo sees his glancing header cleared off the line by the head of Liverpool midfielder Luis Garcia following a Clarence Seedorf corner.

23 - SUBSTITUTION: Liverpool's Czech midfielder Vladimir Smicer replaces injured Australian forward Harry Kewell.

29 - Milan striker Andriy Shevchenko tucks the ball into the far corner of the net after being set up by Kaka following a quick counter-attack but the effort is disallowed for offside.

36 - Spaniard Luis Garcia volleys wide after headers from John Arne Riise and Milan Baros set him up with a good chance to find the target from a central position just outside the area.

39 - GOAL. AC MILAN 2 LIVERPOOL 0. Crespo scores from close range to put Milan two goals in front after receiving a pass from Shevchenko just behind him at the far post.

118 - Dudek makes sensational double save from Shevchenko as he first keeps out the Ukrainian's close range header and then remarkably diverts the striker's point blank shot over the bar.

END OF EXTRA TIME: AC MILAN 3 LIVERPOOL 3. Game to be decided on penalties.

LIVERPOOL WIN 3-2 ON PENALTIES. European Footballer of the year Shevchenko's penalty, Milan's fifth, is saved by Dudek and Liverpool win the Champions League in the shootout.

Hamann, Cisse and Smicer scored for Liverpool to hand them victory after Serginho blasted Milan's first penalty over the bar and their second spot kick by Pirlo was saved by Dudek.

Tomasson and Kaka scored for Milan. Riise missed for Liverpool.

aparently Jay put a £5 on liverpool to win the cup at halftime, when it was 3-0 down... and he got 100-1 odds....
