England Offically Crap for Dealing with Snow
Snow causes road chaos
Police in Gloucestershire say dozens of motorists have got stuck in snow. The worst affected areas are around Cheltenham and Cirencester - where between 300 and 400 cars have been abandoned. Gritters are struggling with the conditions.(From BBC Web Site)
Where as when i went to New York they have the worst Snow Fall for 10 Years, 6" in an hour or more. Snowed all night, by morning all main roads in NY were clear and Gritted and Traffic was not at a stand still, some cars on the side raods were completly covered in snow. There were also pile of snow 10-15 feet high in places too, but still they dealt with it as soon as it happened.
Why when a little bit of Snow falls in the UK it can't cope?

Monday Munday Mundane
Start of the week is so boring !!!
Here is what I did over the weekend though. Went to my Mums house Thursday night as it was her birthday. Friday went to Milton Keynes to Escape which has the indoor Ski slope, did not ski but did have a look round. On Friday night had a few beers with my Stepdad(Brother if your Sparky) Selwyn, and played some cards with my mum. Saturday had fried breakfast, then set off back to Chelts at 12.30. Got back at about 2. Annie was down for the weekend as she is going away for 6 months, so we all surprised her and got very drunk. Graham was also down for the night, we (Drew, Tosh, Yvette, Jay, Cat, Graham and Me) started off at Annies old house (which is where Vicky and Emma live) where we had beer we took along. Lots of people were there including Helen who used to live with Annie and Emma who came down for the party. We surprised her and it was time to head into town, Gray and I walked as we had 6 cans of beer to finish on the way. Got to Residence and we were feeling a little drunk, James P came along to Residence also. Had some more alcohol and moved on to Jays Vodka bar for Jugs of Muddler which me and Tosh drank. The Annie and her pals vanished so the "Family" was left on its own. Most of us drunk more downstairs Drew disappeared for ages reappearing when we went. Tosh's sister also went missing for a similar amount of time? Where they together? What did they get up to? We all thought about going to a club but went to Burger King got some food and went home. Sunday was spent watching TV feeling a bit hungover. Had a roast and then came home and went to bed.

Snow!
Well it's snowing down here in Devon, how about where you are?
I'm not sure many staff and students are going to make it in from the remote areas so it's going to be a quiet day here! Am supposed to be driving to Bristol tonight, I think I will have to see how bad it gets!

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Its a good enough film to go and see, but don't expect to see all that the book had in it. The book developed a lot of points and explains a lot that the film has missed out. I also felt that the film had to be rushed in order to cover the story lines that they were following. I have become acustomed to all the films slight differences but am worried about the ammount of content that will have to be axed from the book in order to keep the next 3 films from each being 4 hours long.

Hello everyone, how are you all? The blog has been a bit quiet this week so thought i'd do a quick post!
How has everyone's week been then? Mine has been ok - tonight is our office/team jolly to Exeter, we are going bowling, for food and then for drinks. I had a sneaky trip to the bowling place on Weds to practice, I only got one strike but finished with a score of 95 so I was quite chuffed since that's good for me!
What have you guys got planned for the weekend then?

Weekend-ed 13/11/05
Well what did all the boys a girls do this weekend????
I had Friday off work, watched some films and TV, then went round the boys house about 9pm and watched some footie (Bristol City), then watched Agent Cody Banks on Sky before going to Sara's house. Saturday was Shona's birthday so when I got up I went back to my place to escape the girlieness. Watched some TV before going to the pub to watch England beat the Aussies at Rugby, the watched the tense game against the Argies. As we were watching the games in the Lansdown, which now has famous sportspeoples names on the table, we were sat at Michael Owen, I gave his name a special rub which I believe resulted in the goal, so I gave it another rub and he got another. So after a few drinks there we went into town (Me, Drew, Graham and Louise Toshack others were at the pub but went off to do other stuff, but they return later in the night). In Que bar we have more drinks, before going on to Blush for some more drinks. End of night me and gray go back to the flat so I can go to bed and gray can sleep on the couch. Once back I get a call from sara and have to jog back in to town and walk her back to mine. One of the girls she was out with had broken the front door to there flat (somehow managed to close the door whilst it was on the latch meaning that the key will not open it from the outside). So I get Sara and come home and go to bed. Sunday spent sleeping most of the morning before going out and getting food for a Sunday (chicken) roast. Yummy Yum. Sara still locked out all day, watched films and TV for the night.
Other things did happen over the weekend but I can not be arsed to include it.

If you want to share your music with Friends....
DONT UPGRADE TO ITUNES 6.0!!!!!!!!
As we all know Itunes only lets you authorise 5 machines to play your purchased music.
Well thats gonna change to 3 machines fairly soon. But thats ok cos we have Jhymn (Jhymn can unlock your files and make them standard M4a or even Mp3's) right? Wrong.
Any music you purchase with Itunes 6.0 can only be played in Itunes 6.
iTunes 6.0 Warning
It appears that if you make any purchases using iTunes 6.0, from that point on you must use 6.0 — and then JHymn won't work for you either. JHymn will have to learn how to perform the iTunes 6.0 protocol before this problem is likely to be fixed -- so hang on, it could be a bit of a wait.
In the meantime, you may wish to delay upgrading to iTunes 6.0 so that you can continue to free your music until a new solution is found.
To all you numpties that have upgraded.
Nice one ;P

My Weekend
Had an up and down weekend been very tough for me giving up the cigs this time, i think it is because maybe this time around I originally felt pressured into it, but saying that Im starting to readjust my thining about that. I gave up once before, about 4 years ago. I smoked for 10 years before that and decided to give them up all on my own. And I quit for 3 years. I started again about this time last year so have been smoking for a year now - kinda like an old friend and it has got me through some hard times, a comfort if you like. Silly i know but thats just how it is.
Yes I had a lapse Friday, stressful day, Went to the docs and found them well, almost unsupportive. Work was giving me a hard time and just felt thourghly crap. Found the withdrawls harder this time around, had lots of pains in my leg and stomach cramps which are not pleasant. Not had much sleep either. Got quite depressed - I just didnt want to feel like crap cos my g/f was down and just wanted to be at my best for her, which I ultimately wasnt and having that cig didnt help, just made me feel worse and wasnt that enjoyable anymore. So being stuck in that inbetween was throughly miserable, missed cigs, felt physicaly crap and gone past the point where having a cig would help - and apologise to everyone for my mood this weekend, especially em who has been just fab.
So Em came down friday and we just had a night to ourselves, it was nice. Saturday we went into cheltenham and I got myself a coat from French Connection which I used to hate, but has some cool stuff in there lately.
Went to james's in the evening everyone had some tea which james expertly prepared - then went to see the fireworks from top of the hill. Was cool.
Sunday me and Em went to cardiff for the day, stayed in the Ibis which was a bit pants - but it did us. We did some shopping and then we went out for a lovely Tai meal to celebrate our mini 6 month anniversery. The meal was awesome, had some wine lots of laughs and for the first time in a week I felt relaxed and enjoyed myself. Was ace. We got a bit drunk and decided to take a trip to the casino. Em had never been before so I took ou £50 (hey I saved that much not buying cigs for the week) and off we went.
Well what can I say, Em is a naturally gifted roulette played, the girl can pick a winner with her eyes closed. I strated the ball rollingby loosing £20 in about spins... she got into it and strated picking numbers... "put soem on number 2"... bam winner £35, number 6... bam winner £35, put some on yvettes birthday Bam winner £17.... all in all we walked out with £150. Awesome. We could have won more im sure, but we had had a laugh and waled up £100 better off which paid for our meal and Hotel for the night.
Today we had free breakfast (hotel didnt charge us even when they asked "Did you have breakfast?" I replied "Yes", she said "Ok thats room with no breafast, £52". "great" i replied.
We did a little more shopping, got em her xmas pressie from me which is a rucksack for her trip to NZ in January.
Came back home and watched Jerry Mcguire and she has just left for home. See her ain in 4 weeks :o( hope it goes quick.
Anyways it is nice to see all the encouragement from my best friend on here, made me smile and I just want to say a very special thankyou to you all and also give a big apology for my moodiness. James and Tosh have both been great and I do appriciate the lengths you guys go to to stop me smoking :o) Yvette your the best and love you to bits. Benji, cheers for the support and Jay and Drew have both been fab also. Thanks guys your all the best a silly welsh tart lie me could not ask for better friends :o)

My Weekend
Had a very nice evening with Tosh and Yvette at the cinema on Friday Lord of War was good and Cat and Yvette got on very well (Tosh and I couldn’t get a word in). Not going to say anything about footie on Sat but fireworks and drinks were nice we went to my house after and Cat and me fell asleep on the sofa. Drew cooked up a lovely roast yesterday I didn’t help much apart from slicing my thumb open whilst cutting carrots. Id like to say thank you to all my friends for making Cat feel welcome she was very nervous about meeting everyone but she coped well with the mickey taking and I am glad you all like her. Cat and I r watching Harry potter tonight as she hasn’t seen the films and I want to watch them all again before the new one is out the rest of the week I shall be spending time with the lads. I am working from home today and am already looking forward to the weekend. The mighty Bristol city r on sky Friday (very rare) so cant wait for some shouting at the TV hopefully my bro will be coming up to watch 2. Sat is a chance for us to redeem ourselves at footie and I have a funny feeling drew will be scoring his 1st goal for us. Watching rugby England v Australia sat afternoon then taking cat out for a meal and Sunday is smallville day, watched the first 2 episodes of season 4 last night they were minted.
Sparky Watch
He failed Jay confirmed that Sparks smoked the other Day. So we have to reset the clock and start again. I do admitt that he did do well going five days with out. So well done for that mate. If you can keep doing that you will slowly reduce the nicotine in your system.
Weekend
Friday night Yvette myself J and a girl he is dating (called Cat - very nice girl J has done well :D ) went to the cinema and something to eat. went to see Lord of War which i thought was good. Cat stiched J and I up by saying she was a soccerette - she could of gone on for ages.
Saturday morning Drew, J and I played footy. We played a decent team from Leeds in the national cup and got dicked on. 8-0 was the score. in our defense - well we had no defense as we didnt have a full squad. but they were the best team we have played. and we dont play decent teams like that every week. excuses excuses ;)
Saturday night we went up to Cleeve hill to watch lots of fireworks displays especially the racecourse one. it was ok. Then we all went to the rising sun and had a few drinky poos.
Sunday over to d'boys house and we all had a roast done by drew helped by james, j, Yvette and cat - all very nice.

My Friday Off
For those who don't know I have every Friday off till christmas, so have to fill them with things to do.
Today I watched a film, Watched Spooks which we Sky PLused last night. Then had to go off to the opticians for an eye test. Monitors were sometimes blurry at work. So i have my eye test and am told i need to get glasses for when i am concentrating on things, felt like saying that in that case i don't need them, so i have to hand over £220 for a pair of glasses. Hopefully next Friday will not be as expensive.

Plot Summary for
Victor/Victoria (1982)
Victoria is a poverty-stricken soprano trying to find work in turn-of-the-century Paris. With the help of a worldly-wise nightclub singer, she invents her alter-ego Victor, a female impersonator who is hired to sing at a fashionable night spot. "You want me to be a woman pretending to be a man pretending to be a woman?" Interwoven throughout the comedy and musical numbers are some surprisingly astute observations about gender perceptions, discrimination and the battle of the sexes
Plot Summary for
The Castle (1997/I)
A Melbourne family is very happy living where they do, near the Melbourne airport (according to Jane Kennedy, it's "practically their back yard"). However, they are forced to leave their beloved home, by the Government and airport authorities. 'The Castle' is the story of how they fight to remain in their house, taking their case as far as the High Court.

However, they are forced to leave their beloved home, by the Government and airport authorities. 'The Castle' is the story of how they fight to remain in their house, taking their case as far as the High Court.

Again Trivia proves to be wank
Lock Stock Question
2. How was Tom attempting to get rid of the antique shotguns?
I answer: They plan to auction them for 250,000 pounds.
But no this is wrong
The correct answer was He throws them off a bridge.
In the final scene of the movie, we never do find out if Tom actually tosses the antique guns off the bridge or if he keeps them so he and the guys can auction them off for 250,000 pounds! (report correction)
The guys are fucking morons
